Knitting advice

Hi all
Having had great success knitting myself (and many others) a scarf using eyelash/ popcorn wool, Mr CG wants me to knit him one. Am looking for advice as to what kind of wool would be best - he wants something 'manly' but not fluffy!!!
Have been buying wool from ebay, so not had opportunity to do the touchy feely thing in the wool shops. Any advice and I'll zip right over to ebay now... thanks

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

Noro silk garden in manly colours - not sure if you'd get it on ebay - you would only need a skein - poss two at the most. Or https://www.colourmart.com does lovely cashmere - which always feels gorgeous! I am not allowing myself to buy any more yarn until I have used up the two drawers full that I have already so I darrn't go and look. Not affiliated in any way!0
