Received this e-mail from freeconomy today: DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL I've been sent an email from a woman called Claire who works for a TV production company who have been commissioned to do a programme for Channel 4. A question about soup
I have got a gammon joint which I am planning to boil up tomorrow, use some for sandwiches & make soup with the rest. I only have red lentils in the cupboard & was wondering if they would work just as well in the soup (as peas) ? I've never made a ham soup before so I'm not sure. Thanks all Trigger

Preserving poppies!
Ok, so there's always a discussion about when it's to early to wear a poppy - but to cut a long story short I always buy mine as soon as they start to appear about this time of year. The trouble with this is they get battered and tatty so quickly. I usually buy at least two, partly for this reason and also so I don't have…

Anybody tried Keepeez?

Jug blender - Which? report
My old Moulinex jug blender has just packed up and i'm looking to buy a new one (with mill attachment). I've noticed that Which? has done a report on jug blenders and was wondering if anyone knew which one came out on top? I was originally looking at the Kenwood BL330, but it gets rubbish reviews. Has anyone got the BL440,…

What to do with a tin of chilli beans?
I picked up a tin of chilli beans a couple of months ago by mistake. It is basically a tin of kidney beans flavoured with chilli spices etc. If I was to add this to left over bolongnaise would it make it into a pseudo chilli con carne? Would it be hot enough? Any other ideas to use the tin up? TIA
