Edited on 31st December 2017 for news of next meetings (see below):
Our meetings are open to all (not just the usual suspects!). Very friendly, low-key OS events, where we meet to have a meal or tea and cake (sometimes a shared picnic, sometimes a bought meal but always very reasonably priced - we are OSers after all!) and a chat, to meet old friends and make new ones.
Sometimes we bring books, magazines, vouchers, seeds, plants and anything else that we can be bother carrying with us, to exchange and share with our fellow OSers.
Next meeting: to be decided, early 2018. Happy New Year!

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

i think we'd have to come up with a way of identifying each other, how about under the clock at waterloo with hm paper chrysanthemums (sp) in our lapels?Nonny mouse and Proud!!
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience!!

I love OS and its great that others do too. As for a meet up, well that would simply not be doable for me, but lots of luck organising something those of you who want to.

IME, the best way to organise a meet is for a small group of people to get together by PM and agree a time and place that they'd like to meet. Then throw the invitation open more widely and see who'd like to join.
I'll find you the link to the last meet that I organised later - should give you some ideas

Looking at the replies for Sunday lunch in Cheltenham, I was thinking very much the same.
I'm a Scout leader in Quedgeley (HQ joint with Guiding), that would give fantastic opportunties for a proper OS meet up.It matters not if you try and fail, and fail and try again; But it matters much if you try and fail, and fail to try again.

If you are arranging it for London why not meet on a Wednesday afternoon and go and watch Martin's show IPTW being recorded?

That's a good idea, I have done that before once with Fran (yooohhoooho Fran, are you there? ), it is a long way for me but would be happy to travel.
Ok, any London and surrounds people wanting to meet on a Weds. pm to go and view Martin's show, please pm me with the intent of meeting after 15th November - this gives us all plenty of notice and I shall be back from Italy (away up to 13th Nov. visiting my mum).

You would all need copious amounts of thermals, scarves, hats, gloves, not to mention sea sickness tablets at this time of year!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
