Thanks Rzl, I looked back and forth all over the place but there seem to be no more offers for Monkey that are still valid. The only thing I saw is best seats for £25 for students for Thursday matinees (and I have a student card hehe) but that would mean I could not go with DH, never mind!

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Just a thought: I do not have a diggy camera and my mobile only does phone and text, no pics, so if anyone who is planning to attend has a diggy pic thingy of any denomination, could you pls bring it? Thank you!

  • Oh, oh, oh Caterina!!
Last night at 6pm just as I was about to leave (meeting son at 7pm @ O2), he rang to say my grandson, who was 1 on Monday, had been taken into hospital overnight with breathing trouble (still there now but is full of beans). He has a bad chest infection, bless.
Anyhow .............................. I quickly turned on PC to see if you were on line and you wasn't :(
I needed someone to go with. My DH wouldn't go for love or money.
Had you been online I was hoping you'd join me.
I called 5 people, it was too short notice for any of them, but eventually found an old schoolfriend who lives on the Island and she came with me ..................... even arrived at the O2 before me!
The show wasn't to my liking at all, nothing as I'd imagined it, was thinking along the same lines as Afrika Afrika ..........NOT!
My friend enjoyed it but was starving as I'd called her away from her dinner.
There was a bar but no food being served.
I paid £45 each per ticket, seats were good but the show, well I've said it all really.
The Sun was doing a promo for 2 tkts £7.50 each??? But it was only for 2 days of the week of the offer.
I'd keep a lookout for vastly reduced tkts in the near future because the show isn't great, so I think they will have a job selling the tickets at all.
An early night would have done me better.
Still on the way via Canary Wharf (Didn't take the bus after all) I managed to get the razor 'glitch' in Boots and paid with points :)

We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars........................

    Hi again all

The Age Exchange place closes at 4pm on Saturdays so please try to make it before then, and afterwards we can always drag ourselves down the nearest pub, there is one just opposite that does cups of tea for the non-drinkers and the skint (me on both accounts!).

  • Hi Caterina

May I ask if there is enough space for a wheelchair in the coffee shop? I would really love to come and is only a 10 min drive from where we are. Would OH & DD be invited too?.....Just a tea and cake would be perfect and make me feel half normal for a change IYSWIM and I may not be able to stop for a while.

Your doing a great job. Do you knwo if this place is open through the week...do they do lunches etc and would the shop accomadate a wheelchair>

Sorry for all the questions but would love to meet you all.

I'm sure they have a disabled car park outside. You will only need to walk a few yards inside to the cafe. You don't use your wheelchair 24/7 do you? I mean you are quite able to walk aren't you? If not, my apologies.

Have a great time everyone. I met some lovely peeps in the meet I went to in London. Shame it's so far away.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

I will check with regards to the disabled car park but thanks for your kind, considerate and helpful post.

    Hi PennyPincher,

Sorry for the delay in answering you. I have called the place and they told me that there is access as they have put a new ramp at the front entrance and you can get on it with the wheelchair, and the shop and cafe are then fully accessible.

No dedicated disabled car park but there is a car park behind Blackheath station and one behind the library - both a few minutes away.

Of course your OH and DD are welcome, this is open to all OSers and families, it will be great to meet them:T !

I am looking forward to meeting you on Saturday!
