A simultaneous meet-up is a great idea, Barneysmom!
I'm in Huyton, Liverpool if there's anybody else around the area. I could manage Liverpool or Manchester, but I don't have transport so have to rely on buses or trains.

You would all need copious amounts of thermals, scarves, hats, gloves, not to mention sea sickness tablets at this time of year!
Might be worth it for the Orkney beer - I've heard good things about it from a couple of archaeologists on the dig up there... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Not sure if you have seen Caterina but there is an answer to your post - the last session is early November but a new series is planned for January.
Too far for me to come but I hope you have a good time.0 -
I'd love to go to Orkney too, to see if the house my dad lived in as a boy is still there. No clue where it was, so could be challenging, but I've got the name of the house written down somewhere.

Thanks Peb, I did not have a chance yet to go and see the reply - ah what a pity, but January would also be good for me.
Meanwhile, anyone in London and surrounds who wants to meet up before then - a cup of tea somewhere nice and cheap would do - please let me know and we can take it from there.

Hi, OrkneyStar. It was Dounby House, which I guess would have been in or around Kirkwall where my grandfather was GP.0
