Energy saving cooking
I know the ultimate energy-saving is to eat a raw-food diet but for those of who enjoy cooking and want to cut down on fuel bills, especially in the current climate, I thought it would be nice to share ideas about low energy methods of cooking. (Am not a fan of the microwave) For instance, I'm thinking of getting a…

Just had a sofa donated - very grateful for this obviously.... However it smells really strongly of cigarette smoke - to the point where its spread through my whole flat and you can smell it when you walk through the front door. Any ideas how I can get rid of the smell? I'm on a REALLY tight budget. Many thanks. :j

Help please - soggy 'frozen' sandwiches!
Hi all :) I executed a brilliant plan to minimise cooking during the school holidays. I spent a few days cooking endless (30!) family meals for the freezer, along with loads of sandwiches for DH's packed lunches that also went into the freezer for daily selection. I was very pleased with myself. (Fingers crossed we don't…

How do I make my washing smell scrumptious?
Hi all! I need a bit of advice! Well I think the inside drying is the main reason but…

Hi all, whilst talking to a friend earlier, I mentioned that I was cooking chilli con carne for dinner - and she asked if my son would be eating it too. I said yes of course, as I no longer cook separate meals for him. She told me he cannot eat kidney beans as, at his age (he's a few months over one), he is too…

Kids lunches for the holidays?
School holidays start tommorrow, and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about lunches everyday? During term, I pack my daughter off to school with either a tub of pasta, or a hoummous and cucumber sanbo,, but needless to say she won't touch these in the holidays. We normally end up having beans on toast every day.
