Hi all I have got a lovely cream sofa - stupidest thing I ever bought! I have to wash the covers once a month practically because I am always spilling things on it! Usually everything comes out in the wash; but I've recently spilt liquid foundation on it. This is what I've tried so far to clean it; - scrubbing with fairy…

Sun Dried Tomatoes with Lemon and Garlic
I had a fab salad in the Infinity Food Restaurant in Brighton and with it was a small saucer of sundried tomatoes with small chunks of lemon and cloves of garlic. It was simply divine. I have found instructions for oven drying tomatoes and preserving lemons. However, will I have to preserve the lemons and then cut…

Trying to find an old post - can anyone help?
I remember a post on here ages ago, where someone was saying how they'd done up their kitchen and bought baby blue accessories, i.e. toaster, kettle etc. Could anyone help me find it? I'm not 100% sure it was in Old Style, but would have thought so... Thank you YC x

Too much bread?
Hi, I make my own bread and am currently making 2 x 2lb loaves a day. This is for a family of three adult males, one 15 year old girl and, of course, me ;) I never really thought this was excessive, as the three males (DH and 2DS) all have 'hearty' appetites and also take packed lunches to work. However, when speaking with…

Kneading bread dough in a food processor
I've just taken delivery of my new Magimix 5200 food processor. It's gorgeous:) It's a big beast and the instruction book says it will knead up to 1.3kg of bread dough. I put in 900g (2lb) and it didn't like it one bit. As I added the liquid to the dry ingredients the noise changed from a low hum to a noise like a plane…

how can I line a panasonic bread pan
I just tried with slippery bakewell paper and the mix made the paper fold inwards so I took everything out and did it again by cutting slits in the bottom of the piece that goes around the pan. What a palaver. There has got to be a better way. I think I`ll e mail lakeland and put liners on a wanted list

Value potatoes - a false economy?
I bought a large bag of Tesco Value potatoes last week. However, unless Tesco have developed a new strain of "leopard print" potatoes, then by the time I've cut away all the black bits, my fist-sized potatoes have yielded enough flesh for a chip! No joke - the wasteage is criminal. Is potato buying always a hit and miss…

In an effort to cut down my huge shopping bills I want to have a main shopping list which I just mark down the things I need and stick to it! I'm sure I saw a link to a templated shopping list on here before - but have searched and found lots of other tips but not the link! Can someone point me in the right…

What are good pillows that will last a long time?
Does anyone know any brands/materials, or have suggestions in general for how to find better quality pillows? They all claim to be long lasting, but in reality they become flat and refuse to plump up again, or worse yet lumpy after a while. I've tried several different types (some expensive ones too), but I've never had a…
