Cheap ( but nice ) hot choc?
My DS loves hot chocolate :D However, the one he likes best is called 'Spanish hot chocolate' from Tesco, and costs £4.99  I've bought Green & Blacks, Galaxy and Cadburys in the past for him to try, and although he wouldn't complain, bless him, he isn't keen. Any recommendations?

Cheap slow cooker
For anyone out there who hasn't got a slow cooker and has been thinking about getting one, I bought one from Littlewoods online catalogue this week reduced to £22 which I thought was very reasonable. It's 3.5 litres Morpy Ricards. Apologies if there is a slow-cooker thread out there already..please feel free to merge! :D

Kids cooking at school AARGH!
DD has just come home from school saying she needs an icing bag to pipe icing onto home made biscuits as part of her cookery lesson. Week before it was a toasted sarnie which ended up in the bin/dog as it had sat in her bag for the rest of the day. This cooking malarky is getting expensive, she was made to use 2 eggs by…

Cleaning Green Mould/Grout of Roof Tiles
Can anyone suggest what to use to clean what looks like Green Mould/Grout of Red Roof Tiles. The green stuff is growing on random tiles and looks terrible. I've tried patio cleaner, detergents, scrubbing with various brishes, but its still there. Is there any chemicals that would make the job easier? Cheers

Cake for school fete
Sorry if this isn't quite the right place, but I thought the people here would be clued up about the cost of stuff ... I'm going to make a cake for the school fete, and I was going to put my own price on it so that it doesn't get sold at a stupid price. I wouldn't like to think it might get sold for less than it cost to…

Budget cookery tv programme
It would be good if tv stopped pushing cookery programmes with lots of expensive ingredients and put one on using normal basic foodstuffs. Forget "take one lobster" etc and start giving people lessons in staying within a budget and cooking from scratch.

Help me reduce my shopping budget please!!!
Hi there - after posting on the DFW board someone has suggested this board for help in reducing my monthly shop! After just going through last months bank statement online there are a total of 17 debits to Tesco which I know will only be food/toiletries shopping. These 17 debits amount to £347.26 which for 2 adults + 2…

Dinner For Eight?
Next Saturday, our village has a Roving Supper - you go around to peoples houses and have a different course at each house. I have got to provide a main course for 8 people between 8.45 and 10pm. We meet at first persons house at 7 for aperitifs, then starters at next between 8-8.45, so I wont have much time to prepare…

Ideas to get my shopping budget down even more?
(Sorry in advance for the vv long post!) OK, so over the past year I've gone from being a "buy it all ready done and to hell with what it costs" person to a fairly enlightened OSer :T (although I realise quite a few things on my list are still pre-made) but now we've had another baby and the budget is being squeezed even…

How much should fish cost?
This may seem like an odd question, but bear with me! There aren't many decent fishmongers near me, so in terms of understanding what's a fair price for fish and shellfish all I really have to base it on is the fairly limited range in the supermarket or the super-fancy places in Borough market. If I'm ever on the coast I…
