Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning Everyone

Another warm one dawns. At 11.20am yesterday on on of the illuminated signs it showed 35 deg. Already 20 with no sun yet up at 6.45 am. Sat here with all downstairs doors and windows open and all the fans on. Apart from dunking in the pool, unless very early or very late, too hot to do much at all. Bethabee hope you are applying the high factor sun creams while out here.

A few omissions from yesterday, belated birthday wishes to Miss Pink - 18 a young lady now, probably one with a hangover this morning if Aunty HJ has lead her stray! (Enjoy France HJ but don't drink the wine lake dry) Hope you feel better soon Pink. Good Luck with the Job hunting Snowy - hope you find something which really suits. Mioliere - I think Martyn is busy just being happy - in the words of the song "What at difference a Day (or week or month) Makes". Twink I hope Squishy & DS's Wedding went off OK, and Congrats to the Happy Couple. Hope the weigh in went OK Charlies_mum. H-H Glad to see you are feeling better. GB - Hope you and your friend enjoy the visit, it will be hard I appreciate. Tired_Mum sorry to hear you lost your job and have cancelled the holiday, don't beat yourself up, kids can have a good time anywhere, To my DS and gang of kids and the opportunity to play sport = heaven. Anniebl - Hope all your DS's exams went OK, very tough time for them I know. Dogrose Congrats to your kids - you should have Proud Mum moment with that. Jackie-0 only two more "get-ups" to your G&T, maybe we should all raise a glass/cup (whatever our poison) with you on Friday evening, 8pm OK? Chrisca - any news?

:grouphug: smokybabe, pen-pin (hope you are able to watch and enjoy the tennis), CM, Mrs Mix & DS, Candygirl, Jayward, Anniestar, Hilstep, taplady :grouphug:

  everyone else I've missed

I also had a pleasant surprise from the Co-op £83 in my account - problem is cannot think of how I have earnt it. We do have a local one where I get bits from when stuck, but not at all regularly and only small amounts. Last year got £100 in vouchers, from when I used to have my car insurance with them, and they auto renewed it before I could tell them, and they then cancelled it, but still gave me the vouchers. Maybe it is spending them, but good percentage. Not complaining though.

Less adventurous meal last night, gammon with egg, frozen peas, and frozen wedges:o , Didn't have these until after 9pm here when the Murray match finished. Then a neighbour came round and we played Upwords, a board game similar to scrabble but where you build up on the letters.

Good Morning Donny, Mioliere and all to follow

Had a good nights sleep last night the first one for days - still feeling tired but will hopefully wake up soon.

Tai Chi this morning, ironing this afternoon. Had one of those days yesterday where seemed to be busy but actually got nothing much done. Did take DS to the docs and he has been diagnosed with seasonal Asthma and now has a pump.

Not sure whats for dinner tonight - depends on the weather.

((((hugs)))) to anyone who needs one.

    Morning

Cloudy but dry here this morning, they say it will stay dry until Friday - typical, we go away on Saturday  We are going down to Wareham, so will try to find out where Martyn is, and will report back.

Went to weigh in last night, and I had stayed the same - I think that is probably because it was an evening weigh in. Must try not to have too many pub meals next week :D

Work today, so doing beef casserole in the slow cooker

((( hugs ))) to everyone, especially Anniestar x

Morning all, Another hot day looms. Donny Gal I saw 36 deg in Denia y/day when shopping in the market. Bought lots of nuts, dried fruits, spices etc to put in jars for prezies. Went to a garden centre and bought DB a huge teracotta pot about 3ft tall. Managed to barter and got it for 135euros, I know it's a lot but he is worth it.

Well it's our last day here, time has flown by and have loved every minute. Plan to do a bit more shopping, pack the cases then throw myself in the pool.
Off to catch up on here as I haven't read since Monday.

    ((((((( Huge Hugs to all))))))))))))

    Morning all,

Looks like another nice day here, I took a chance and put my washing on the line before bed last night, so it should be dry now, will go and check in a moment.

We are having chilli and rice tonight, I did a carbonara last night with some leftover double cream and a lonely egg, it was delish :j

My mum went to the Dr yesterday as she has been feeling so run down for months now, she also gets up at least 6 times a night for the loo, she was very worried because she has has cancer twice, but it turns out she is diabetic, :j might sound strange being so happy about that but, we have been so worried about her, and the DR thinks she can sort her out and make her feel much better, I am so pleased, she has been so poorley, and hopefully we will see an improvement soon :T

Smoky Anniestar, pen pin, bemuzed, beth, hugs to you all xx

Charlies mum, well done on staying the same,

DG and beth, I wish I was in spain, I could so do with a holiday

Off to W**k today, so will swipe round before I go, rubbish day today as well, so will get that out.

    Have good days all xx

Thanks for all your good wishes over the last few days, I'm sure I'm on the mend now.
I must book my car in for it's MOT, I doubt it will pass, but hopefully DS will be able to sort it for me.
I need to start job hunting ready for the holidays, I must be more discrete this year, last year my DD paid for me to stay home as she didn't want me working too hard, but I can't keep taking advantage like that.
I must go & feed the neighbours cat & then go to work.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Another early start for me to go running before OH goes to work.

POPPY have pm'd you sorry for delay but didn't see post until this morning.

GRANNYB sorry to hear your sad news, hugs to you.

HESTER glad you're feeling better and BETHEBEE glad you have had a good rest.

HUGS to Jayward, Anniestar, Candygirl and her Dad, PenPin, Smokey and anyone I've missed.

Plan to spend an hour at the allotment this morning putting in my outdoor cus and the last of the tomatoes. Will also do some more digging. Then it's studying for the rest of the day. Dry here again so will hang the washing out in a minute. Lunch is leftovers and tea will be baked potatoes, various salads and fillings.

    Have a good day all

Yesterday OH managed to do a tooth in, so today he's off work and taking a trip to the dentist instead. Did a bit of shopping and managed to pick up some salmon, plaice and lamb chops at a reduced price. Realised this morning that I should have picked up another of the lamb for a meal when OH's two daughters are about. Nevermind.

Have checked the washing....only enough for part loads (despite the basket being practically full...don't you hate it). Have sorted most of the kitchen and will sort the rest later.

Having soup for tea so need to make some bread if I get the chance. But it is an easy tea, so it'll make it easier to finish off the kitchen later.

Its my mum's birthday in the next few days so I need to sort a pressie out. I have the cards, and the little one's present.....but the pressie from me is sadly missing. Right now I have two dull ideas....smellies or flowers. Not good is it. She has decided to have a BBQ for sunday lunch so I'm toying with the idea of making something. She does a mean lemon meringue, so I thought of doing that....but last time I tried it was a disaster. I also thought about making some marmalade...but I've not convinced myself yet. She's the sort of person who is a pain in the bum to buy for. Any suggestions gratefully received.

On the funny front...Lily found her belly button yesterday and proceeded to poke it with a peg. She couldn't get the peg in, so then she handed me the peg, pointed her tummy at me and waited for me to poke it in. Strange child.

Well, since last night I've not heard any more from DS or DIL. Either hospital are still going to monitor her or she's home catching up on some sleep. She had a scan yesterday and said the baby is growing fine and has lots of hair so should tickle on the way out then...........eventually  :D

Thanks for all your good wishes too, much appreciated.

Work today, washing on line and dishwasher will be emptied before I go. Good old Spag Bol for dinner tonight

(((hugs))) to all you poorlies and those that are sad.
