worried about son afta uni ?

aily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

    Morning Everyone

Another warm one dawns. At 11.20am yesterday on on of the illuminated signs it showed 35 deg. Already 20 with no sun yet up at 6.45 am. Sat here with all downstairs doors and windows open and all the fans on. Apart from dunking in the pool, unless very early or very late, too hot to do much at all. Bethabee hope you are applying the high factor sun creams while out here.

A few omissions from yesterday, belated birthday wishes to Miss Pink - 18 a young lady now, probably one with a hangover this morning if Aunty HJ has lead her stray! (Enjoy France HJ but don't drink the wine lake dry) Hope you feel better soon Pink. Good Luck with the Job hunting Snowy - hope you find something which really suits. Mioliere - I think Martyn is busy just being happy - in the words of the song "What at difference a Day (or week or month) Makes". Twink I hope Squishy & DS's Wedding went off OK, and Congrats to the Happy Couple. Hope the weigh in went OK Charlies_mum. H-H Glad to see you are feeling better. GB - Hope you and your friend enjoy the visit, it will be hard I appreciate. Tired_Mum sorry to hear you lost your job and have cancelled the holiday, don't beat yourself up, kids can have a good time anywhere, To my DS and gang of kids and the opportunity to play sport = heaven. Anniebl - Hope all your DS's exams went OK, very tough time for them I know. Dogrose Congrats to your kids - you should have Proud Mum moment with that. Jackie-0 only two more "get-ups" to your G&T, maybe we should all raise a glass/cup (whatever our poison) with you on Friday evening, 8pm OK? Chrisca - any news?

:grouphug: smokybabe, pen-pin (hope you are able to watch and enjoy the tennis), CM, Mrs Mix & DS, Candygirl, Jayward, Anniestar, Hilstep, taplady :grouphug:

  everyone else I've missed

I also had a pleasant surprise from the Co-op £83 in my account - problem is cannot think of how I have earnt it. We do have a local one where I get bits from when stuck, but not at all regularly and only small amounts. Last year got £100 in vouchers, from when I used to have my car insurance with them, and they auto renewed it before I could tell them, and they then cancelled it, but still gave me the vouchers. Maybe it is spending them, but good percentage. Not complaining though.

Less adventurous meal last night, gammon with egg, frozen peas, and frozen wedges:o , Didn't have these until after 9pm here when the Murray match finished. Then a neighbour came round and we played Upwords, a board game similar to scrabble but where you build up on the letters.[/quote]

    Hi everyone:j :j
I haven't had time to read the full fred yet, but have been none stop all day.A lot of the kids went on a trip to Camelot, so it left the likes of muggins here teaching the classes that the teachers had left    One of my silly boys severed 3 tendons and a main artery in his arm at break, after being chased by another silly boy.He tried to balance by putting his hand on the glass and his arm went through. It wasn't a pretty sight at all, and he was being operated on this afternoon:(:(
I've just been to Morrisons and bought loads of junk food inc my fave custard donuts, as i'm feeling a bit stressed.Just gonna put the WM on and peg out, then chill out for the rest of the night;) :D
HUGGLES to all in need, esp ANNIE, PENPIN, PAM , POPPY and i can't recall who else till I read the fred properly:o :o

    Happy birthday to me!

Had a really nice day, DH is currently signed off work with some issues that he needs tests and a scan on next week - but it's been lovely to have him home for my birthday.

Got some lovely cards and pressies and he's cooking dinner for me tonight - HM turkey burgers and wedges with a bottle of bubbly :j

Hello, everyone! Posting nice and early (for me) as I'm at my mum's and trying to convince her to help me in my money saving whims! *mwahahaha* She hasn't had a good day, bless her, and I'm echoing that. Today at work hasn't been great, although I got my shopping list done. I'm so tired. :( I've not felt this exhausted in a long time. There will be little in the way of anything tonight, methinks, other than perusing the late night bargains in the 24 hour Tesco at about 9pm.

((big hugs to all)) I hope everyone's ok. I'm flagging. :( At least I don't have to cook tonight. I've brought my laptop to mum's so I can show her my pride and joy meal plan - she feels better if the things she cooks are different and nutritious (and that we've not already eaten this week!) So, a bit of a treat in the form of gammon steak and new potatoes! Yum!

I might work a little more on my book if I get the chance, but I have a feeling that once the shopping is away it'll be a case of watering the lettuces and my darling chilli plant, feet up for ten minutes, and then bed.

    Hi Dazi,

Not sure where abouts you want to stay, I thought I heard you say west sussex? if so there are rooms available in Arundel and Fontwell Travelodge.

Thanks for that, have now booked Arundel, it was fully booked yesterday
will keep an eye out though for the premierinn in Bognor or one over in east sussex - then I can visit parents on the way home, going to be a busy weekend!

    Good evening

Have just managed a quick speed read of today's thread and would just like to say how touched I am with your mentions. I am not normally a doom and gloom person but for some reason the last 6 months have been difficult.

Annie - the news about my friend is not new news IYKWIM. She was diagnosed terminal last year and she is a true testiment to mind over matter! It is humbling how strong she is. I will cry tonight once she has gone home.

Beth - so glad the break in Spain has gone well as you were having such a difficult time with house, arm etc. Hope other family health issues OK.

JackieO - I will certainly have a G&T with you on Friday. Take care. You too are a real inspiration.

Dazi - wow, what beautiful pictures. I can hardly believe I was telling you all about the arrival of our third DGS almost this time last year. First birthday next Thursday.

Pooky - very many happy returns. Hope you have a lovely day. Hope DH OK.

Twink - thank you! I was a bit concerned when I heard on Breakfast this morning that there has been some awful food poisoning in the Lake Garda area. My DH, DS and DSIL all look fantastic in the kilt as I know your DS will too!

Kyle - sorry to hear about DS1 and hope he (and you) are feeling better.

Sorry not to mention the rest of you but please have hugs and take care (by the way DG I do not want to read your weather forecasts from Spain!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Just kidding!

Got new medication today, don't feel too tired so I hope the thyroxine kicking in. All small stuff out of lounge for carpet cleaning tomorrow and I am going next door tomorrow night for a meal - wonderful. I have just posted on the Greenfingered thread - I am a murderer! Just been out and stamped on some more!

Special mention to PenPin and Smokey. Off to eat before my dear friend comes down about 7.00 for hugs and a blether.

    GB xxxxxxxxxx

PS I have been doing a mysterious M post tonight it is so long. Love to you MM!!!!!!!!!!!
