    Hello,

You are talking about Sag Aloo. Sorry, I don't know how to cook it but I'm sure a quick search on google or on bbc.co.uk/food will bring up quite a few recipes! Good luck!

    hi i made this once

i used garlic, oil, patatos and spinach.. and salt and turmeric (red chilli if you like)

first get 2 cloves of garlic and cut/blend into small peices and add a little oil enough for the garlic to be covered and cok until the garlic is golden brown

Cut the potatoes into small peices and keep them ready beforehand (whatever size you like) and add them

Add a little salt, turmeric and chilli and mix

Add a little water so the potatoes can be cooked in it..

Add the spinach when the potatoes r almost dun and cook for a few minutes.

Hope it works, cooked it a while ago and think its like that :D

    Dave Trousers and Sarah99

    Thank you both.

It sounds yummy - hoping not to make it too spicy as I am using the recipe to try and get some spinich in to my kids - lol.

Have found a recipe on the BBC website which also contains tomatos so going to give that a go because I also have some tomatos here that need using up :)

    Thank you all again

  • Another Indian dish with Spinach which I love making is "Palak Paneer". You can buy Paneer at any Indian grocery store - it's a bit like cheese....
Thought your children might like it...

    Here's the recipe

    You'll need;
A pack of paneer cubed into about one inch pieces
    Spinach
Oil (i like this made in a mix Olive Oil and Garlic Butter)
Green Chilli (pounded with garlic if you aren't using the garlic butter)
    Salt and Pepper
    Coriander and Cumin powder
    Turmeric

In a non stick frying pan, fry the Paneer until it's lightly browned all over and remove/strain from the oil. Keep this aside. In the same oil, add the green chilli and garlic mix if using this. fry for a few seconds and then add the spices. Then add the spinach and cook until the spinach is done. Add the paneer and mix all thoroughly whilst on the heat.

Serve with naan breads and sprinkled with coriander leaves

Ohhhh that sounds so yummy. We are very lucky and have a really good asian cash and carry near us so I will have to see if they sell paneer and give this a go.

    Thank you
