Vinegar and softner
I like the idea of using vinegar instead of fabric softner, however, I still like the smell that fabric softner gives. I was thinking off mixing vinegar and fabric half and half. Has anyone else tried this? Thanks, Dave

I'm seriously considering taking up the massive task of creating a household notebook for our family of five. Can anyone point me in the direction of some decent ready to print forms like those at http://organizedhome.com, but aimed for British people, meaning without the Americanisms such as cell phone / page, physician,…

Hole in bread-maker bread. Help please?
Today I made a loaf in my breadmaker and when I took it out there was a hole where the "blade" had been. I always slice the bread and freeze it and about 5 of the slices were spoiled by the hole. Is there a way around this? Any advice would be appreciated.

You know you've spent too much time on here when...
...your pyjamas match the upholstery! Just made some much-needed cushion covers and had so much fabric (old duvet cover) left over that I made a pair of equally-much-needed pyjama shorts. Still got loads left (half a king size duvet and 2 pillowcases) - at least enough for a couple of dresses... I'll just have to watch…

Combi Microwave Recipes
Hi Old-Stylers :D I've had a bit of a search and frankly I'm a bit let down ;) :( I can't find a surplus of recipes to test in my (fairly) new combi-oven. The ones I could find were for meringues and cakes - which I shouldn't read as that is not why the purchase was made in the first place :naughty: So if nobody minds and…

potentially stupid pan query
Just looking in argos sale to buy new pans as I only have 2 small saucepans. I also need casserole dishes. They have a set of 14 pans 2 of them are stainless steel casseroles, does anyone know if I can use these in the oven as well as on the hob? I'm presuming I can as they are casseroles but wanted to check. Thanks.

Cooked Breakfasts - Freezing?
I very rarely have time for breakfast in the morning (especially the preparation and cleaning up thereafter), however last weekend I bought so 'breakfast ready meals' that I could just stick in the microwave. Having been having these all week, I've found having a breakfast makes a big difference to my energy - and more…

Breadbuns
I'm about to make some bread, but I thought I'd make buns for a change (easier for lunch sandwiches, esp. if, like me, you happen to wield a bread knife like an axe!). Can anyone tell me how big I should make the dollops of dough before I leave them to rise? (Does that make sense?) Also, how many should I aim for from what…
