It is the first frugal site from the USA that I've looked at that is not littered with bible verses and little dictats on how we should be obedient to our DH's lol!!…

My next dilemma
I have issues. How on earth can I get my hobs clean? Should have never bought an electric oven with those raised hobs, but I was looking for the cheapest oven I could get at the time, as I could not justify spending money on one! Anyway, 2 of them have gone rusty, and I can't get it off. If I do, it comes back within a…

My New Best Friend!
OK, don't worry you are all still my best friends! Today one of my newly qualified teachers popped in to see me. I have an affinity with her since she started in August. Scottish Local Authorities guarantee a year's work in primary (and I think secondary) schools following qualification. Thereafter they have to then apply…

Hi there you great wise OSers. I'm originally from Holland( I have lived in the UK for 18 years now) my sister and I were talking today on the phone (she lives in Holland) about a pudding we have there, called "griesmeel" pudding. I stuck it in the translator online and it came out as Semolina. In Holland they cook it and…

Organic milk
We have been buying organic milk on and off for a while now. Does anyone else find that it tastes much creamier than normal milk? For example, my OH has skimmed, I have semi and the kids have full fat, but I find that organic skimmed almost tastes as good as semi for me and my semi organic tastes more like full fat. I'm…
