Cream carpet - red candle wax - Any idea's?

Need help and advice what to do for the best

Got red candle wax on my new cream carpet.:eek:

I have not touched it yet, what best to try and what should I not do

Ive managed to get candle wax out of the carpet by using a brown paper bag, and a hot iron. Place the paper over the wax, then iron over the paper. The wax will melt and the paper will absorb it. I think you could use a tea towel or grease proof paper.
