Organic milk

We have been buying organic milk on and off for a while now. Does anyone else find that it tastes much creamier than normal milk?
For example, my OH has skimmed, I have semi and the kids have full fat, but I find that organic skimmed almost tastes as good as semi for me and my semi organic tastes more like full fat.
I'm ........... almost sure that its not in my mind..... but I wouldn't bet on it.

Hi there
I agree with you... organic skimmed tastes more like semi and semi tastes like full fat to me too..... so its not in your mind...well i don't think so-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Maybe it's because the cows haven't been pumped full of hormones to make them produce more milk......0

I agree. :T
It tastes so much nicer than normal milk. It keeps longer and freezes well too.
its just a pity where I shop they only sell it in 1 pint containers. £2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

Organic milk has more omega 3 fatty acids in it, so it is different.
I don't drink milk so can't give a personal opinion, but when my two oldest children were little they would complain that the milk tasted funny if I swapped to organic or back again. I also remember organic milk used to have lovely lumps of cream in it, but these days it sadly seems to be homogenised like conventional milk. :rolleyes:0 -
It definitely tastes better. I've been moaning for years that milk in a plastic carton doesn't taste as good as milk used to taste from a glass bottle, but organic milk comes pretty close.
Not very OS though as it's more pricey, but worth it I think. My bran flakes taste fabulous!0 -
wel... I think its OS as in " decent milk produced by cows that are fed a proper diet and generally lead happier lives, therefore milk tastes like wot it used ter, like "
I almost always buy organic... on the rare occasions I don't, I wish I hadn't... the " normal " has less taste than the carton
It is one of the things I will not compromise on along with eggs etc... would far rather pay more for better taste and quality as well as the ethical reasons, rather than buy something I loathe consuming and want to throw away after the first mouthful. Very good point Kitty! I wouldn't dream of buying anything other than free range eggs. I will never feel guilty about buying organic milk again :beer:0

I agree! I have been saying it tastes creamier for ages so I'm so pleased you have said this - now I don't feel I'm going mad!:xmassmile:rudolf:0

I agree about the taste... BUT i've only recently started buying organic milk and when I've bought from Morrisons and Asda, it has definitely started to go off a couple of days before the date on the carton... I know it probably hasn't got all the nasties / preservatives or whatever... but it puts me off buying it as it's happened a couple of times with milk from diff shops.0
