dippers for chocolate fountain

Hoping people have some good ideas about what to dip in a chocolate fountain apart from fruit and marshmallows, nothing too messy!
someone suggested fudge pieces but dont know how well that will work

and where to get a decent amount of marshmallows for cheap? had a look and http://www.mrsomalleys.co.uk/pages-productinfo/product-92:d84989960bcb1afe648a65ac82401b1d/swizzels-matlow-drumsticks.html
seems quite good, (plus i need some drumsticks which they do)
would 2kg of marshmallows be enough for 170 people?

I know you said 'apart from fruit', but have you considered dried fruit. Apricots are good with chocolate and soft prunes are lush ;)

And what about coconut ice -bounty bars ! Or make some hokey pokey (recipe is around here somewhere) it's like the inside of a crunchie bar.

Morrisons have tubs of mini ring do-nuts - yummy when dipped!!
  • yes min doughnuts are great , dont know about Morrisons but when I needed enough for 150 from Tescos I nearly didnt get any because I didnt pre book them , so if you want some book them in advance to be sure they get them for you.

The only thing I ever want to dip in these is my tongue.. and lap up the chocolate like a wild beast! *droooooool*

biscuits.. rich tea fingers.. ginger nuts.. shortbread etc..
    bread sticks
    ice cream wafers
    lollipops..
those big jelly snakes..and other assorted jelly sweets
mini muffins and fairy buns.. dirt cheap to make millions of.. and can pop them on cocktail sticks!
    toffee
    rice cakes

A friend of mine who ran a choccy fountain company used to use strawberries, banana, shortbread fingers, mini doughnuts, mini macaroons (from morrisons as I recall) and marshmallows.

If I was helping them finish it off, I'd use fingers :o
