Baking tips?
:hello: I've decided I like baking. It's probably something to do with the end product. I quite enjoy the weighing and mixing etc, and I'm not even too concerned about having to wash up. The bit I don't like is having to line and grease the tin. :( I end up with butter all over the place (mostly me  ),…

Dates & Bicarbonate of soda - why??

Duck fat question
Just bought a duck today, and was looking at the recipie in Jamie Oliver's new book. He says, 'Halfway through, you'll probably need to drain away a lot of the fat from the bird.Sieve it and keep the fat (but no meat juices) in a jar...' I hate to sound thick, but won't both the fat and meat juices be completely liquid? Is…

What can I cook at 100*? Or what would you do with these on the hob?
Hello OS-ers :) I've just moved into a new house and am having trouble with the oven. It's a fan oven, and most of the decals on the dials have been rubbed off. How do I cook it and has anyone got any recipes please. I've had a look on the recipe thread but nothing jumped out at me. Thanks in advance :)
