WW or Slimming World?

Options
I really cant seem to follow a healthy eating plan myself and seem to need the help of a group! I followed WW in 2003 and did lose over a stone and was really pleased HOWEVER when i have tried to follow it myself at home I just cant seem to get motivated.I have been looking on the Slimming World Website and I really like the idea of their plan. Does anyone follow either of these plans and if so which would you recommend?I am planning joining a class when i move(moving to a different town next week so it will also be a way of meeting new people).I have exactly 2 stones to lose to get to my goal weight. Thanks everyone x

I've done both plans, got to goal on both and then..........piled it all back on again  Well, I did stay at goal for a while, about 6 months then got complacent.
Anyway both plans are good, WW teaches a bit more portion control but SW is good if like me you're often hungry - SW you can eat all day and still lose weight - it does work!
I think it's whatever suits you, I like the WW core plan but I don't like the leaders at WW meetings - they're to focused on selling WW products for my liking. My local SW has a great leader so I prefer to go there (and it's cheaper of course)
I'm doing 'healthy eating' at the moment, 10lbs to lose and hoping it will be gone by Christmas!!:rotfl:
  • I must admit I prefer Slimming World.

I find that if I 'slip' and have a bad day (or two), it's much easier to get back into Slimming World mode. Also, as already pointed out, if you're hungry there's always things you can eat and still lose weight. On WW, I'd often have used up all my points but still have a lot of 'day' at the end of it !! Very depressing and made me more likely to overdo things (and I mean really overdo it ! Personally, I was much more likely to give in and binge on WW than on SW).

Sometimes just depends on which 'leader' or 'consultant' you get. I've had two on SW and they've both been lovely and very supportive - not pushing SW products at all.
  • Since this doesn't really fit in with old style, I'm going to lock the thread and recommend the weightloss thread on the 'I wanna' board. Alternatively, If you'd like to talk about losing weight the old style way, you could join in on this new thread. It will be purely for old style weight loss though so if you want to discuss the different clubs, then I would recommend this thread.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.
