So you wanna lose weight? You've come to the right place!
Pull up a chair and join in the chat, whatever plan you're following to lose weight, there'll be someone here that can help and advise, or offer moral support.
There are regulars here who follow Slimming World, WeightWatchers, calorie counting, combining healthy eating with exercise, or just cutting back.
You can join the 2 pound weight loss club (just ask Dellybelly) and see your results in a chart that's updated every Wednesday, and you can take part in the monthly challenge - we're currently aiming to lose 5lbs by the end of September. (We all like to think we're going to lose 2lbs every week, but in reality that doesn't always happen, so 5lbs a month is a more realistic target.) And you could be Slimmer of the Week, or Slimmer of the Month!
We have plenty of recipes to help you in the recipes thread (link below) and there are links to useful websites below.

a very tough gammon steak, the waiter came over and asked about the meal and I told him it was tough and he said ' would you like me to send someone over and talk to you about the toughness of your gammon?':rotfl: I said ' what like a gammon counsellor?':rotfl: :rotfl: He seemed a bit confused by that:rotfl: In the end hubby ate it and I swapped it for some of his chicken, great fun evening:D:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Thanks Victory that hit the right spotGlad you enjoyed your meal...

I'll look for it later and paste a link...

...I did those Lebanese chicken wraps for the family on Tuesday and like Victory's family mine liked them too :j (I had left over Quorn cottage pie), but the chicken smelled lovely, and the garlic sauce was really good, (I allowed myself a teaspoon of the stuff as I love garlic)...

REMINDER FOR EVERYONE ABOUT THE SWAP BOXES!!
I stole this idea from Nigella.com because I like sending and recieving parcels and everyone is so nice on here that they all deserve to get presents. If you want to play, follow the instructions . . . .
Please pm me with your real name and postal address by 300907. I'll then turn this into a chain and send you the details of your swappee. I promise to only send your address to one person and nothing else! The person you send to isn't the person you are receiving from. Then, you have a budget of £7.50. Please try and stick to it. Then all you have to do is put your box together and post it so that it arrives to be opened on 311007. Remember to include a card so your swappee knows who it's from! If your box arrives before then you are not allowed to open it - the idea is that we all open them 'together' on October 31 and then you can post about what you got. You can put anything you like in your box, but NOT CHOCOLATE!!!! Also remember that your swappee may be a vegetarian so unless you're sure I wouldn't send them £7.50's worth of spam - the postage would be crippling anyway . . . . Use your swappees username to look at their posts and find out the kind of thing he/she might like, or they may want to give you hints about allergies and other such things like the colour of their kitchen or something.
Any questions, please pm me.0 -
shiny new thread! Thanks Suggs.
Afternoon all, hope we are all well. Welcome to our new bods whose usernames I can't remember and they are on a different thread so I can't scroll back. Anyway, have fun with us!
Victory, glad to hear you seem to be over your moment and enjoying your weight loss. I have some brownies to make tomorrow - I have a 'reputation' as a purveyor of tasty baked goods and I've tried making diet versions but they just don't compare. I've been on the SW website and the thread here looking for good diet cake type things but I think I will have to accept that they just don't exist and just limit myself to small amounts of what I make. Trouble is I'm putting celebrations in the brownies and I can't use nut ones so I''ve chucked them all in the freezer. I think they workout about 2 syns each don't they?
I got Jamie Oliver's new book yesterday - absolutely awash with olive oil! But a few potentially SW friendly ones - I'm going to try roast carrots and beets with pork chops for a red day next week. I will keep you posted if it works.0 -

I agree with you katie, I too love to bake and have found that the best cake for slimmers is the good old fatless whisked sponge with jam, or plain scones. They are both very basic proper recipes with a low fat content. I've tried doing a fatless banana cake that I got from another part of the forum, and while it wasn't too bad for me, it wasn't something that you could serve to most non slimmers and expect them to eat it. Meringues are also good, use low fat creme fraiche with them instead of cream, but we're still talking a lot of calories!! If you come across any please let me know as DD and MrP love cake but do tend to have a weight problem if they have too much (and they daren't leave any that I make, so I'm at fault there:o ) I've got some low fat cook books that have cake recipes but they're still too high in calories for my liking.
