    Hi folks,

Pretty quiet recently from here in sunny Dudley due to having to clear out, decorate and reorganise a room. Grr... almost done now though.

I've scanned the last pages and just wanna say:

Lois, hope things perk up for you soon.

Victory, glad to see you are on the way up yourself and made the decision.

Suggs, Delly, thanks for the voluntary work and efrieze thanks for offering too. Delly, no WI for me this week so no PM needed, wouldn't wanna fill your box without good reason ;)

Well done to all the losers, commiserations to the gainers and a big HELLO :hello: to the new joiners.

    Normal service resumed soon.
  • well the dreaded monthly weigh in was last night and hey!!!! lost 3lbs. was really expecting to have put on as i strayed last week after i weighed myself on my own scales and it looked lie i hadnt lost at all. so of course from then on i went on a binge, funny thing was though i didnt enjoy it. weight come off so slowly that i got really fed up and came on here and seren cheered me up and i got back on. what annoyed me was that i cheated at all as not on a proper strict diet but the paul mckennas programme "i can make you thin" and its so easy just being sensible and following certain rules and it does work and it is a long term new way of looking at food so not a diet that when you get to your ideal weight you come off it and all the weight goes back on. anyway end of 1st month i lost 3 kgs which brought me down to 111 kgs then 2nd month put on 0.5 kgs which put me on 111.5 kgs then 3rd month (last night) lost 1.5 kgs so now 110 kgs. not sure of calculations but i think it means in total after 3 months i have lost 8 lbs. please someone correct me if i am wrong and can you please put me on chart to show losses and link for me to go on and see how others are doing. 8 lbs in 3 months not great but like i said not dieting and still eating all my favourites just in moderation and of course am taking the orlistat capsules which are meant to make you lose fat. hace long way to go though. i was at heaviest 13 stone and size 16 am now 17.5 stone (110kgs i think) and a size 20/22 so at least 5 stone to go and as medication responsible for some of it going on it will slow my loss down but hey lost half stone so far so better than nothing and going to put my scales away and just rely on my monthly check at hospital as your weight can fluctuate so much day to day it can be really depressing. my clothes are definitely looser and getting into jeans that didnt even meet in middle!. sorry such long post but no one else i can talk to about all this that is as understanding and willing to listen. would love to be down to under the 17 stone by 3 weeks which is next appoinment so will keep you posted and try to make an effort to not just read how all you are getting on but most throughout month too and not just at monthly weigh in as you are all so supportive. well done on everyone elses losses by the way :T

Well done homealone...you should feel very proud!
one suggestion...get the scales out of the cupboard once every 2 weeks (so dead centre of your monthly weigh-ins). I think you'll find it useful as if things are going wrong you can then put the extra effort in for when you go to your monthly check-up.
  • Well done homealone :T I'm lad that it has perked you up a bit and to have looser fitting clothes is the best sign that one can have :j How is the exercise going? Have you been able to do any more yet? Every little bit will help so keep it up a stay positive :j

Hi ajax, thought it seemed quiet the last few days. I've got a garage that needs clearing out, the car hasn't been in it for over 8 years (per our neighbour:rotfl: ) despite MrP going in there every couple of weeks to get it done  I can't do it as we have super-sized, vicious, racing spiders in there 5x3p3qo.gif:eek: You sound just the bloke for it:beer: :rotfl:

... lol pet, I don't think I'm the bloke for the job at all. Why not ask Mr Hunky Peep? (not jealous or bitter honest:D)

Now what's this about nothing having been in your neighbour for 8 years?
  • well done homealone! sounds like your making progress. IT may be slow going but it sounds like you are doing the right thing - going on a strict diet at the moment would be way too much to cope with. It's probably more sustainablefor you to lose it slow and steady with simple lifestyle changes.

lol at Petrichor's supersized vicious racing spiders. I'm scared of spiders but only indoors. Although OH actually had to beat one to death with a tent peg the other night - he was trying to force it down the plughole and it kept fighting it's way back out again. Still not as scary as the boot though.

    Hello:hello:

I have been following the old style board for a few weeks and have been making pastry and all sorts of 'filling' things. A side effect is that there is rather more of me than there should be, (I was'nt a twig before) and I would like to join in with you if you have room for one more. Please can you tell me
    • What I have to do.
    • How does the 2lb thread work?
    • Is there a good record keeping system that you can recommend (I need to up the exercise too)?
    Thanks

I posted the above on thread 14 just as it closed today, so if no one minds I have moved it here, as the last thing I need is another excuse bot to manage my weight. Any help you can give will be gratefully received.
