  • Hi everyone and welcome to al the new folk, Spirit, Poker128 and rachelja. (Sorry if I've missed anyone out.) Tts nice to have a few fellow newbies around.
Mistywoo I can recommend low GL eating. I lose a 1lb a week which I know doesn't sound much but that is without doing any excercise so I am sure that could be improved upon. The advantage I have found with low GL is that nothing has to be banned, just keep an eye on the portion size and combine high gl food with a lower gl one to even things out. I do tend to try and keep an eye on the fat as well as it would be easy to eat a bit too much as it is classed as low gl.
homealone Well done for losing 8lb. I know it doesn't seem like much but its great progress.

delly thanks for taking on the chart, it is one of the main reasons I joined. I hope to see my name on the chart next week, hopefully with something positive to show.
Lois hope you feel a whole lot better soon.

    ........hehehhe thanks... I think;)

Just turned something good up while I've been sorting out - our SW group's "Greatest Loser 2006" certificate. Never knew going through boxes could be so rewarding :)

On a similar note, should anyone want the SW book "Shop To Slim at M&S" then PM me - first some first served. Cost: a kiss if you're pretty, handshake if you're not :D. It's the 2006 version of the book so very up to date, and has all the points values of M&S foods on both original and green days.

Lois - hope you're feeling a bit better. You've done a great job on the lists and even organised a successor. Thanks!

BB - Thanks for letting me know your cake solution .... just in case my next delivery includes anything tempting. Mr Ocado did send me a miniature bottle of Drambuie. My alcohol tooth is as small as your sweeet tooth so it's still sitting in the cupboard. But the time he sent me a little bar of Green and Black's chocolate .... well let's just say Mr GN never even saw it.:o Mr Ocado does it on purpose because he wants me to be fat  . Funny how he never sends anything like a nice ripe mango or a piece of steak. (I know Mr Ocado isn't very MSE but he's the only one who'll deliver between 7 adn 8 a.m.)

Really liked the gammon counsellor victory! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thank Suggs for the new thread and to efrieze for offering to do it too. What a helpful bunch!

Homealone --- hey, celebrate! You've lost more than half a stone!:T

What do people use to reward themselves for meeting minitargets? Obviously my usual ideas of a large latte and a cake aren't appropriate at the moment and Mr GN refuses to fall down and worship me, which was my alternative idea. Suggestions ---- clean ---- welcome.

    Sorry --- long post.

... nothing. Every week begins with a treat otherwise there'd be no fun in dieting for a week. :o
  • Evening all
    Welcome to the newbies:T
Lois - I hope you are feeling better, thanks for all your hard work with the thread and chart.
Spirit - thanks for the spending diary link, I have been looking for something similar for ages. It has spurred me on to watch what I spend and keep track. Once we get paid at end of month I will set myself a spend challenge.

Well I have cycled in all week again even with a chest infection which was diagnosed last night after I had been feeling rubbish and so tired for nearly 2 weeks - I had put it down to the onslaught of all the exercise but I'm glad to know I won't be feeling this knackered until I've lost all my weight!!!:T
I've done 2000m out of the 35200 needed to complete the Aspire swimming challenge. I will need to do 3000m a week to ensure I don't fall behind and end up doing a 24 hour marathon at the end just to catch up!
Trousers feel loose today - I am so looking forward to weighing in again (never thought I would be saying that!)
Well off to do some Uni work now
    Have a good evening all
    :hello:
