So you wanna lose weight? You've come to the right place!
Pull up a chair and join in the chat, whatever plan you're following to lose weight, there'll be someone here that can help and advise, or offer moral support.
There are regulars here who follow Slimming World, WeightWatchers, calorie counting, combining healthy eating with exercise, or just cutting back.
You can join the 2 pound weight loss club and see your results in a chart that's updated every Wednesday, and you can take part in the monthly challenge - we're currently aiming to lose 5lbs by 29th August. (We all like to think we're going to lose 2lbs every week, but in reality that doesn't always happen, so 5lbs a month is a more realistic target.) And you could be Slimmer of the Week, or Slimmer of the Month!
We have plenty of recipes to help you in the recipes thread (link below) and there are links to useful websites below.

Hello LW 14!
I'm here but slightly confused, LL - why do we start a new thread now? Happy to follow the weight loss crowd wherever of course, what a top bunch of people!
Good luck everyone for the coming week xxThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Good morning LW14. Just read yesterday's.... quick observations:
Cook Yourself Thin has been recorded on the V+ ... looking forward to it even more now.
Suggs .... "Morning all (and Ajax)". I have one word - HRMPH! Golf was pretty poor - no birdies (us high handicappers don't do birdies that often)
Grannynise I am sooo proud of you for giving the conmen (and conbirds) grief. Hats off to you.
Thanks again Lois for your efforts with the chart.
Poohbear, it always comes off much slower than it went on, that's just something that we'll all have to put up with. The important thing is not to get disheartened and stick with it. We really do sympathise as we're in the same boat
Last, and probably most importantly... Bails !!!! Lycra hockey shorts? Get it posted !!!! As for the new thread, someone comes along, taps Lois on the shoulder and says "your thread is a bit long now me old china, get a new one done". It's all done for neatness.0 -
Morning Peeps
to Lois for doing the necessary to start the new thread :T ...
...Well done rustynash SOTW :j and hits the monthly challenge in the first week  ...
...teeni and well done on your weight loss so far, we all struggle after a while for a couple of weeks but the resolve does kick back in and you'll soon be getting rid of the other couple of stones
...
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Oh, one more thing...
Delly, I had no idea there was a 21 point weekly alcohol limit. That's awful news.0 -
Feeling SOOOOO positive thanks to you all! :T
But on Saturday I go on holiday for two weeks... no internet ... no weighing scales ... BUT it is in a cottage so I have control over the menus, BUT it is a holiday and there is an award winning restaurant :j , the blurb says, across the road.
Please send positive vibes to South West Wales to keep me on the straight and (if at all possible) narrow.
I shall continue to write down all I eat, so welsh cakes, welsh pie, welsh ice cream, welsh chocolate and aim to be no more than I am now on return. Is that feasible, experienced peeps? Or do you, I know you do, have better advice? I don't want to fall at the first hurdle.
Ajax how much alcohol is 21 points? And is it the same limit for alcohol if you dont have a p****?0
