    Morning all!

Been meaning to ask, what is the £ for lbs thang? I'm assuming it's money every time you lose some weight but what are the figures for it? Just planning ahead in case I ever actually get round to losing any :D

    Ajax,
thanks for explaining about the thread move. At least I won't be wibbling on much here so it might last a bit longer! And as for the photo, well I would post it up but I'm just terribly busy with the packing so you'll have to wait...;)

Off to make some GL muesli to take with me (see, I am trying!). Can almost smell the pain au chocolat wafting across from the bakery already...

Ajax how much alcohol is 21 points? And is it the same limit for alcohol if you dont have a p****?

.... granny, a pint of decent bitter or cider is 3 points. A Bottle of wine is 8 points. A bottle of WW wine (I THINK) is 7 points.

You make an excellent point about us folks with dangly bits. Recommended maximum alcohol guidelines "allow" men 28 units a week and women 21 units a week so based on that, I would take a lot of shifting from the standpoint of being allowed to use 28 of my points on alcohol. I think it's safe to assume that WW is designed to be more geared to females when quoting their default values? I know alcohol limits and WW points are not the same thing, but there is a correlation somewhere, as mens needs are taken into account when they assign the points to calories ratio... i.e. men get 9 points to womens' 3 because guidelines advise men to have 2000 cals a day and women 1500. I have a feeling delly and I will be debating (fighting in the playground) this at a later date :)

... apologies for speaking for you petrichor but as I'm online...

Her "pounds for pounds" is saving the money in a jar that would otherwise go to the slimming club. Who needs a group when you have scales at home and a support network here?

Feeling SOOOOO positive thanks to you all! :T

But on Saturday I go on holiday for two weeks... no internet ... no weighing scales ... BUT it is in a cottage so I have control over the menus, BUT it is a holiday and there is an award winning restaurant :j , the blurb says, across the road.

Please send positive vibes to South West Wales to keep me on the straight and (if at all possible) narrow.

I shall continue to write down all I eat, so welsh cakes, welsh pie, welsh ice cream, welsh chocolate and aim to be no more than I am now on return. Is that feasible, experienced peeps? Or do you, I know you do, have better advice? I don't want to fall at the first hurdle.

    Grannynise,
I can completely sympathise as I'm in the same boat! Only difference is that although we're in a cottage I'm not going to be in control of the menu - argghhh! I am contemplating taking the scales with me, a little obsessive perhaps?? Just as I'm struggling already, really don't want to fall off the wagon in a big way.

I want to enjoy myself obviously as it's a holiday but to be perfectly honest, my goal of getting back to work is more important to me (I've had enough 'holiday', even if it's been far from fun!!) and losing weight will help me do this more quickly.

So all tips gratefully received here too, thanks x

If anyone on WW or following a WW points plan is interested in an electronic version of the points tracker, I've just knocked one up. It's the same format as the WW one but needs one less pen (albeit one more PC). It adds points up as you go through the day and shows what's remaining. There's a screenshot >>here<<, just PM me if you want the excel file. Not a lot else on it yet, but I'll add carry overs etc when I can be [strike]ars[/strike] bothered.

The plan eventually will be to add efrieze's weight table/graph, bring in the BMI and other tools and anything else useful.

(EDIT) I've stuck it on t'inter-web so there's no need to PM me if anyone wants it. It's on this page >>here<<

Cool, thanks Ajax, I've started one of those already so now I don't feel I'm missing out!

I'm off to sort my life out (in one day I hear you cry, is this really possible?!) but I'll check in later to say bye bye

Oooh I'm on the chart - I'll have to do well then! Three days in to my second SW go and I don't feel like I'm doing that well. :( Will try to have a good weekend (at boyf's with his cooking and all that duty free wine around?) and see what my weight is on Monday.

Ooh, just seen your chart Ajax, is it geared up specifically for WW or can I put in my own points? On my plan I get 45 a day. Would be really helpful for menu planning x

... it's feasible but it's not what I would call a holiday - especially not with 58 michelin stars over the road. Controversial I know, but healthy eating is healthy eating for 51 or 50 weeks a year in my book - holidays are not to be compromised. What's the worst that can happen if you enjoy your holiday and are strong enough to end the fun when you get back? Get to your target weight 3 weeks later? Big deal.

I know what I'd rather do.
