hi
i tried to make the jelly last night the recipe i have states 1lb of fruit to 1/2 pint of water. so i used 6lbs of fruit and 3 pints of water and left it straining over night to only get about 3/4 pint of juice.
i am very dissapointed i have another 2 1/2lbs of fruit left can anybody help me with water quantities please.
also do you think if i put the original juice and hopefully the 2nd lot together it will be ok or should i do it seperate?
i've looked on the search thread and can't find what i need and have also googled without any luck.
thanks mary

I use enough water to just cover the apples. I cook them for a long time so the fruit is really soft and mushy.
You can definitely add the juice to another batch and boil it all up with the sugar (1 lb of sugar to every pint of juice).
