Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 21/09/07 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning It's Friday and I have the weekend off, until Wednesday 1pm in fact. Of course I still have to go to work today...
OH is a bit upset with me as I won't consider adopting children. We have 4, almost all teens and I don't want the hastle of starting over with a toddler. It's not like a pet that you could get rid of if it does not work out. With that attitude I would not make a good adoptive parent..... Anyway I shant bore you with the details..... I hope it blows over soon
Fostering I can handle...
Well the weather seems to be turning. It's not quite getting cold yet, but we had rains and wind yesterday. I still have to paint the windows too. I hope we get some dry days next week.
I am hoping to purchase some more chickens this weekend, sort out the bees, paint and get some jobs done.
Tonight we are off out for a meal with friends, so the weekend should be a good-un,

Morning all
The lodger got in at 10:00, not sure how it happened, but she managed to miss her stop & do the journey twice (it's a circular route). I was beginning to think I'd have to go & get her.
I managed to get her a Dr's appointment as she was reluctant to go to work as she had a pain in her back, Dr told her to take pain killers as it was muscular, if she takes any more pills she'll rattle, she lives on herbal supplements. She bought some Nurofen from the chemist, they must have worked well because she was on the bus to Reading town centre by 6:00 as it's late night shopping.
She keeps trying to persuade me to washup by hand & I keep explaining that it is cheaper to put the DW on once a day than it is to wash up 2 or 3 items in running hot water & half a bottle of fairy, lol.
I went to bed as soon as she arrived as I had to get up at 5, hubby has a days work in London, £33.50 fare to earn £48.00!! It hardly seems worth it, but it made him feel better & he might have 2 more days next week, fingers crossed. As long as he earns enough to cover his fare I'm happy.
DW is on, Thumper & Ogden & the fish have all been fed, all I need to do now is grab my lunch & then I ready for work.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester

Goodmorning everyone,
Well what a fiasco this morning. Took Benny over to get a trim, I was waiting on her verandah. She came out and said she just had to wash him. I said we don't have time the ferry goes at 10 to 11 & it's 1/4 to now. No I was told it goes at 11.10am. Wrong. She dropped me down the ferry and I saw that the next one due for our island was 1pm.
 So I waited patiently for 1/2 hour then thought stuff this & saw the car ferry approaching. I whistled & started waving madly & they came in and got me.What a bunch of nice blokes. DH just got home so just been having a chat. Off to do some work in the yard. It's not so windy today.
CM Hope you got some sleep last night. Lovely to see you back.
N9eav I don't think I could do it either. It won't be long before you're grandparents. You can give em back then.
Well have a great Friday. (((hugs))) to those under the weather & special ((hug))) for JackieO. ByeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

morning all,
Hope everyone is well,
W**k today, but finish at 2.15 so not too bad, DD has got a friend coming to sleep over tonight, I have never met the mother, she phoned quickly last night to confirm arrangements, but it ammazes me, they are only 12, and she is letting her come and stay the night with a complete stranger, I told DD she needn't think she is going back to sleep there, I need to get to know people quite well first.
Fahitas for tea tonight, and I have promised DD a small tub of ben and jerrys ice cream as a treat.
OH had his driving lesson last night, butcame home early as he needs to get glasses for night time driving, more expense.
Aussielass, the place you live sounds great, really remote, its my dream to live in a house in the middle of knowhere.
hugs to all

Aunt has made me some lovely cloth bags for DD's upcoming birthday, out of some gorgeous fabric I bought for the purpose (I'm afraid I posess a sewing machine, but lack the ability to sew)....so will have to cobble her pressies together into some sort of order at some point....

Hope everyone else is set for a good day.. hugs for anyone in needing one!!
Well yesterday, i pretty much got the spare room done :j -just waiting for hubby to get all the boxes into the loft tomorrow..and than i can finish any last bits... heck was i pooped by the time i was done:p
Had HM sausages with carrots, broccoli, cabbage, nobbies, potatoes and onion gravy last night..... boy was i ready for it....it was yummy:T
Today I think its going to be savoury meat pie with plenty of veggies -must remember to cross off on the freezer list
Its looking like hubby will maybe be away on exercise next friday - for a couple of weeks....so that will be a loooooooong 2 weeks if it happens.... sorry but i may be on here even more than usual :rotfl:
Well the 1st lot of dustbin men have just arrived.... which will no doubt mean that the organic bin men and the recycle bin man won't be far behind...closely followe by the road sweeper ..glad i was up before they had chance to wake me... don't deal with being woken up very well... still at least here doing the recycling is an absolute doddle.... our "restmul bin" - which is just for anything that doesnt recycle has only had to go out once since we got here...so im obviously recycling like a woman possesed
- and even when that went out it only had a carrier bag with bones in.... When i have made stock etc i tie the bones up in food bags drop em in a carrier which is kept in the freezer until the bin is due for collection - no manky maggots in my bin :j .... well enough rattling about bins
Had better get off and catch up with the gossip - after i have got my tea n toast...
Hope you all have a good day:D-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50
