DLB~ if i was you i would nip and see your Dad on his birthday.(i bet it would mean a lot to him), even if its only for a few minutes. Poor you ,you sound like you are between a rock and a hard place at them mo.no wonder you feel poorly.
Hugs if i haven’t mentioned you (im not ignoring you deliberately~honest!:o )
Well its chucking it down here and really dark. OH hasn’t had any work this week, thanks to the pr*t he works for not giving him any. Plus he owes OH £40,hasn’t got it for him,but can afford to buy a new landrover.
So now im panicking about money. Plus the aforementioned pr*t had said he would pick up a second hand sofa i won on ebay. But now keeps making excuses,so im gonna have to look in the paper for man with van.(more cost.) if it not one thing it my MOTHER! :D
I made a banana bread the other day. Oh my word i have NEVER tasted anything so vile in all my life._pale_
God it was horrid. OH liked it so it must just be me! Twinks hobnobs went down a treat when OH’S best friend and girlfriend came round yesterday. She was moaning she was hungry, soon shut up when she had ate 6 (yes 6) hobnobs.:rotfl:
Need to go and drop nephews 1st birthday presnt off. Got him the most, annoying musical nursery rhyme toy. (i do my bit to please the parents :rotfl: )

    Afternoon all,

Nearly made it 'morning'...OH's fault he brought me a delicious sandwich made with some of the bread we bought yesterday...like bread used to be so I had to eat it.

Anyway nothing but drizzle here, warmer than the last few days anyway but won't be working outside...going to declutter the desk in LR as I can't find my spare keys and want to give them to my SIL before Sunday. Have two Weetabix cakes in oven and two chickens...one for to-day and tomorrow and one for freezer. Going to stew some apples for freezer as well, and cook a couple k of mince to divide and put in there for future reference.

Tired Mum...hope that you get to see your doctor and that you get something to relieve...had what I gather was something similar once and it was most unpleasant. (Aussie....really you colonials!)

DLB...take it easy...painkillers not best with tummy upset...flat lemonade or similar or something with ginger in it is good for settling.

Still shocked at my overspend yesterday...made me realise that I used to do that everyweek before MSE...no wonder I never had any money...my income is now one-fifth of what it was before retirement and I'm saving money...should have been a millionaire long ago!

Nothing much happening here apart from the cooking, will make a couple of apple tarts as well and maybe a victoria sponge and chocolate...most is going in freezer if I get there, as there is no huge demand for sweet stuff here anymore so just need to have something for when people drop in...remember when family were all young used to spend Friday baking and have little left by Sunday if I didnt freeze it immediately.

Haribo...last time I heard of anyone being so superstitious was my mother saying 54 years ago that she had to buy some lace from someone at the door as she was afraid that she would put the 'evil eye' on her ....she was expecting my brother at the time, which is why I can remember how long ago it was....I'm surprised at you!

Hester...your lodger seems to be getting the message somewhat that you are not her slave, make sure she continues to remember that.

Hugs to all in need...JackieO, are you ok??

    I'll be back

  • Hello again.

Thankyou for all the nice hellos yesterday.

It's a right laugh on here isn't it??
You'll have to bear with me while I try and remember everyone's names....

So far today I have hung out some washing, made a beef stew for tea, been to post office and done a bit of shopping.

Shez my daughters are 4 and five so I'm past the terrible 3s but they still have their moments.

I'm going to have a nosy around old style for a bit then off to do more housework (yawn)

  • Oh and thanks for the message frogga... I only have a few pounds to lose from eating too much on holiday so won't be joining but thanks for the offer to join you and good luck with your diet.

Edited to say... seems I joined frogga's challenge anyway. Oh no, now I've quit.

    Hi everyone!
Hugs to all those who need them today!
Can I have a proud Mummy/Old Style moment pleeease....I made the small person a Dennis the Menace door sign for his birthday...we sent a photo of him off holding a Beano with the sign in the background and he's in this week's Beano:j He's won a prize awell.
Anyway I hope you don't mind me having a little boast..it's just OS has given me the confidence to have a go at making some pressies and I'm chuffed today!
On the OS front I've sorted out a dark wash to go on when I get back, beds stripped, linen changed and bin emptied. Trip to Mr T tonight.
Hope you all have a fab OS weekend.
