    Morning All

I've been so busy this week, I've just not had time to get on here. Feeling very tired, as I've been putting in a lot of extra hours. No extra money, but I will be able to take an extra day off - big deal when I've not had one for 2 weeks!

Just another week to go until I get a pay rise. Hoping this pay pack will include the cash they wrongly took from me for being off sick.

Getting a free lunch tomorrow at the rugby club and then hoping to have Sunday off. I really need some sleep it's not funny

Would like to get into the country lanes over the weekend to pick some blackberries for jam. Having rabbit casserole tonight - when I eventually get home

    Hope everyone's ok

    Morning all!

last day off before I return to work!:( still I've enjoyed a break!
The Tens machine is working a treat on DHs back, not totally getting rid of the pain but enabling him to move about much easier especially first thing in the morning which is the worst time of day for him.

Am going to make an apple fruit cake this morning with some freebie apples I was given last night by a fellow tapper. might be enough for a crumble too.

This afternoon I'm off to visit my friend in West Brom who has just split up with her hubby and moved out into a bedsit leaving hubby and 2 teenage boys in their house.things had got so bad that she thought this was the only option but she is finding it terribly lonely there. I am off with a coffee cake and a listening ear!she does suffer with depression so I hope things are not too bad for her.

dlb - hope you're feeling better
Catowen - glad your DS was pleased with his birthday greetings from us Old stylers:T my DS was suprised on his birthday too!

(((hugs))) to anyone I've missed who needs one!

take care, no doubt I'll be back soon!:D

  • :j weighed myself this morning and I have now lost 8lb, over half a stone, since the start of August! Got myself an innocent goosberry and blackcurrant smoothie to celebrate.

I made a yogurt chocolate cake yesterday - the one MrBadExample made :rotfl: - into cupcakes. BIG HIT at work! There were eight left over (the recipe made a lot of cupcakes!) so will be offering them around for elevenses.

My mum's coming to see me tomorrow and we'll be going to Strada for lunch - very, very delicious.

    Have a great day everyone.

  • Morning Folks :hello:

Nothing much happening here today. I've still got the cough of an old man with tuberculosis so I'm avoiding the office again today. :o

Have just started off smoked pea and ham soup in the SC for tonight. I'm loving this soup night thing cos I make enough for Saturday lunch as well so it's a very easy start to the weekend's cooking. Then with a big roast on Sunday I have Monday's meal sorted too. ;) I did want to try a new soup but I was out voted.

need to make more bread too. The loaf that was made overnight is pretty poor. but they ate it toasted and no complaints.

No shopping today and if I can summon the energy this afternoon I will bake with the girls again. Only made fairy cakes yesterday, so planning on scones, flapjack, banana bread and lemon biscuits today. I bought some nice dried fruit last weekend and the girls wolfed it so this week I bought some more from LIdl. Now they say it's disgusting so I may have to disguise it in the flapjacks. ;)

Hope Dlb, tired mum and miss mix are better soon

Nelski, it's VAT time for me too but I'm doing my ostrich thing about it again. :o

Aussie... Only you could flag down a passing ship full of men. Or where they dazzled by the sight of your legs and veered off course. :p:D

    have a good one everyone.

    Hiya again everyone.
Im feeling worst than ever, managed to get kids to school and put brave face on, even took boys to dd school to have family picture taken.
But feeling awful now, the stomach pain in coming in waves, im ok for 15 mins then in pain and feel sick for 20!!
Have just sat and wrapped my dads 60th presents up, im wondering if its because my mum wont let me see him tommorow or any day for that matter as to why im feeling ill??
I am just having a coffee then will quickly go and post his gifts before the sicky feeling comes back.
Iv took some pain killers but not sure if there is anything else i can take for a stomach that feels like a washing machine at the minute? Any suggestions very welcome.
Right off to do the post office

  • Hello :hello:

    Hugs:grouphug: where needed/wanted.

This next week will be very os, my budget manager (mum) has said that once the weekly shopping money has gone no more till next Thursday.

Just waiting for my dad to visit he's not been well - ate out of date coleslaw - so he's not seen my DD for over a week.

I've got some of DD's clothes soaking in Napisan following a nappy disaster, so they'll be thrown in the WM later.

Kitchen and living room are bombsites so will crack on with that too.

When OH comes home (on OT) we'll head to Asda shopping list in hand with no extras.

Got to go DD demanding food

    Morning all

<<Hugs>> to those who are feeling unwell or unhappy, must be the time of year!

<N9EAV> What a difficult situation. Adoption is hopeless unless you're both 100% behind it, it's great that you are happy to foster though. Sounds like your wife is missing having someone to care for/nurture. This isn't meant to be flippant...maybe kittens or a puppy would help? I have three step children, never been interested in having any of my own (and having 3 step children confirmed for me that I didn't want to be a mum!). My cats are my "babies", and fill any nurturing need I have.

Been busy doing the autumn pruning and dismantling in the garden this week, and yesterday we popped to London as we had tickets for a radio recording of the Lawrence/Sweeney Mix. Went up early so we could get some bits & pieces at Borough Market, and also went to the British Museum to see the Terracotta Army exhbn. Didn't thihnk to book in advance, and when we got there at 1.30, all tickets for the day and the next day were sold out! It's there til next April, so we'll see it next time.

Not sure what we'll be doing today, probably more garden stuff if the rain holds off.

    Have a good day everyone
