Making jelly
In a bid to lose a few pounds (in both physical and money terms), I've been taking sugar-free jelly to work with me as a snack. The only problem with it is the taste - it's very weak. Help! Had carpet fitted today and have adhesive stain from parquet floor
Had a brand new carpet fitted today - cream of all colours. The room used to have those parquet floor tiles - we took all those up and the floor had this sticky brown gluey substance on it. Anyway, when I was moving the bed back, some of the brown glue must have been stuck to the bottom and now I have a huge mark in the…

Braising v Stewed
I usually use braising due to a bad experience with stewing steak. Horrible it was, horrible! I usually use it to make goulash or maybe an stew. I don't make them very much as I can buy mince cheaper, but would stewing steak be okay for this and taste nice? I would cook it for about 2 hours I would imagine on the hob.

I've just brought a Scooby Doo Cake tin to bake a Birthday Cake for my boyfriend's birthday. Now, I am used to making these cakes, I used to make them for the children I used to Nanny for. However, I don't really like Butter Icing, a bit sickly. Does anyone have a less sickly version? Thanks

Aside from reheating to freshen them up what can I do to use up three stale scones. Fed up of eating them in scone format and they are now a week old so any suggestions??? My only thoughts were as an alternative to trifle sponges but not too sure this would work...also a scone based bread and butter pudding???

Slow cooker too high?
Hi :) I just got a slow cooker for Christmas, which I am delighted with. But, I have noticed it seems to cook a lot quicker than the recipes in the accompanying booklet indicate. Today I have made rice pudding which was meant to take 4 hours on high, according to the recipe, but after 2 - 21/2 hours was cooked and starting…
