Hi
I've got the Panasonic SD253 and its great.
It has a fast bake program white in 2 hrs and brown in 3 hours.
You do need to give the loaf to cool down before you use it for sandwiches though.
I got mine from Amazon for approx £80.
Its the Good Housekeeping recommended and I think Which too.0 -
I've got a cheap one from TEsco and I love the fastbake. A loaf in 58mins. The Panasonic SD253 is fantastic! I've had mine for a couple of years now and its still used all the time. The timer is excellent as you can programme the machine to come on a few hours before you are due to wake up and the result is an amazing smell of freshly baked bread! A fast bake option is available on this model and is really handy.
I bought mine from Amazon and have been so pleased with it that I have bought them for both my parents and my husbands mum and they love them too
Hope this helpsBM0 -
I've got a Russell Hobbs and the fast-bake programme actually produces a bigger, lighter loaf than the ordinary prgramme!"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

I have been wondering about fastbake, what would you say are the main differences between it and a normal bake? (apart from time of course!)
ThanksA penny saved is one you don't have to earn! :wave:0 -
Another vote for the Panasonic 253 its superb.
Her indoors uses it with the gluten free program which works well.
For "normal" bread just throw it all in press a button loads of fresh tasty bread.
Just have to keep an eye on the weight now0 -
I have had a breadmaker for years and have never used the fastbake - the fact that you have to put in more yeast (at least with the models I have had) puts me off somewhat. Am currently lusting after an SD 253 as my current one is only fit to create dough, seem to have worn out the cooking function! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

FYI, tried the fastbake (2 hours) last week.
Simple white bread, not impressed with the results.
Will stick to the "normal" 4 hour setting in future, this gives superb results every time.0
