Wednesday the 10th January, 2007

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 10th January 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

Hello all, I was up late doing accounts for my husbands business and listening to the wind outside, but as tired as i am i had to `unwind`.I have watched this thread for weeks and months and have never had the guts to really join in. Well what a cheek i have, I thought i would not only jump in and join but be cheeky to start todays thread. I am off to bed and will be back later. Hope i havent cross posted/started it off wrong !!Morning all...........Love Elaine

hi churchmouse and elaine373 and to all who follow. i was so exhausted from doing the flylady challenge today i went for a lie down at 6pm and woke again at 10pm!!!!!!!!! only meant to have an hour. hubbie is still there now, i decided to get up otherwise i will not be able to sleep till morning.

i know you are supposed to take baby steps when flying but hubbie is helping and the house is looking good.

wanted to tell you about my os success story. i decided to try dyeing some greying / faded underwear before chucking it to see how it came out. (dylon dye from woolies 4.50 approx) well i'm really pleased i used a black dye -expecting things to come out black but the bras have gone a burnt orange colour (they were originally baby pink & flesh & white)and the white thongs i added as i don't like white pants have gone black with burnt orange trim. hubbie says they look trendy and people would pay fortune for them in shops lol. anyway very moneysaving as i am currently losing weight, so don't want to spend money on a size i won't be for much longer hopefully, and there was nothing wrong with them apart from being faded etc.

today more flying, post ebay parcel, pick parcel from sorting office, pay bills, change address for bills as decided not to renew redirection (more moneysaving), visit hubbies mum who broke her ankle, sort more stuff from our damaged shed (water has got in and stuff has gone mouldy) buy another shed to store car boot stuff.

    Good morning everyone :hello:

The fortnight off at Christmas was lovely but I've come crashing back down to earth. I've completely knocked my sleep pattern out and have developed a habit of wakening at 3.00am which is not good when I have to get up in the morning to get the children to school and keep going until I finish work at 10.30ish in the evening. I'm shattered, but I still can't sleep. :(

    Sorry, moan over. :o

Looking at the daily threads over the last few days has made me realise that I actually have very little to moan about.

Stormybay, I'm glad to see you posting here. Thinking of you. x
Queenie, I'm sure you'll do your best to support your friend and her family. My thoughts are with you and them.
Elona, I'm glad the memorial service went well.
Penny Pincher, I hope you aren't suffering too much pain with the shingles.
Valentine, I'm glad the scan was good. Hopefully it all feels a bit more real to you now.
Penny, Congratulations to your dd! My dd did her Queen's guide last year, I'll ask her for more details of what was involved.
JackieO, I'm delighted to hear Tilly Grace might be coming home soon.
Kaz, You made me feel so much better on Monday when you took them to school. I did exactly the same thing with one of mine.
A warm welcome to all the new posters on the daily thread. :hello:

I've done all I can here without wakening everybody so I might try to get back to sleep for an hour or two. At least I have nothing much on tomorrow so I can have a quiet morning.

Tea tonight will be something in the slow cooker as both boys have beavers/scouts at different times this evening and with me going out to work as they all come home the slow cooker comes into its own on a Wednesday night.

    Take care all. :)

morning everyone....especially all the new folks!

only working this morning. might go shopping on the way home and see if I can pick up a few bargains. then I have the rest of the week off - got lots of studying to do. Mr D is on holiday so that will be a hindrance. ;)
not back at work until monday. seems so funny to be off for so long but that is my contracted hours. have worked so much extra in the last year I've forgotten what it is to be part time :) I have so much course work in the next 4 months so I have to. If money gets tight there is always extra work available but we are up to date with most things...and the florida holiday is more or less paid for. must start looking for villas again. does anyone know anyone who rents out a villa in orlando?

Didnt sleep to well, heard banging noises, and about half hour after when i could be bothered to get out of bed and check what the noise was, i discovered are you ready for this....
that `the witch` had been onto my garden without my permission and removed the fence panel:mad: .How sad if that that she waits till it is dark and obviously waited until all my lights were out then creeps onto my property!!!!
I am so mad:mad: , but dh is fuming, he said he is getting up early this morning and going round to their house before they leave for work ( hope he feels well enough because if he doesnt go round i will!!:D )

Anyway apart from world war three about to happen on my back garden, i plan to bake today, just some basic butterfly buns and cheese straws.
Tea will be hm pizza and garlic bread.
General tidy, wish i could find the details for flylady, cant seem to find details of what all the steps you talk about are???

    Take care everyone

Good morning everyone and welcome to the newbies ... please keep posting the more the merrier :D

Been up a while and looking through the threads at cheaper alternatives to liquid soap. I know, I know ... a bar of soap is much cheaper - but in our house everyone makes such a mess! I'm going to try and water down some cheap bubble bath or baby bath to see how that works.

Whilst dinner was cooking last night I also put on a huge pan of bolognese (but using TVP mince rather than lamb mince) and left it to bubble away for an hour and half. This is for dinner for tonight (quick to reheat) and 3 additional portions for the freezer. Low fat and cheap. We have decided to have at least 2 vegetarian meals a week to cut down on the food bills.

For lunch today we are taking HM tomato soup, HM soda bread and a couple of pieces of fruit.

Have a lovely OS day everyone
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

    Morning All

Super tired this morning, as I was working until 10pm last night covering the football. We lost 1-0. But 2.5 hours overtime:j

Didn't have bolognaise last night in the end, as my friend treated me to lunch. So bolognaise will now be tonight.

Rain is tipping down here and the wind is howling. Not nice at all

Job for later is to get petrol otherwise I won't be returning to work tomorrow - which might not be such a bad thing!!!!:D
