  • It is really important to have a day to yourselves sometimes and get away from the guilty feeling. The body isn`t a machine and it does need times to re-generate itself

I had a patient once who was always on the go with 3 small children and her own business. I suggested that she puts her feet up from time to time and gets to read a trashy magazine or watch a film or read a book. The look on her face was tremendous when she said in a quiet voice `you are giving me permission then!` and sometimes that is all we need ie someone to say it is ok. So all those who are whacked out running round, take some time for yourself and enjoy it
  • Hello everyone,

Thanks so much for all your good wishes yesterday - I was really touched by all your kindness. I do believe it more now, especially as we've started telling people, but I do keep looking at the scan photo, just to check! I think we've managed to get round most people to tell them now, but there's bound to be someone I'll offend by forgetting!

Queenie - I am keeping a pregnancy journal, online, on another forum. It's been a really positive experience so far and great to chat to people at a similar stage.

The house has gone to rack and ruin in all this excitement - and with going back to work and all the commuting, the tiredness and sickness are kicking in again x 100. I still really don't feel very well at all and am just praying for that day that I wake up and feel better! My OH isn't feeling too clever either and is having some work troubles so I can't force him to help out either. Oh well, we managed spag bol for tea last night and I made sure to get my 5 portions of fruit/veg througout the day so at least I'm not eating *too* badly.

Anyway, I promised not to turn into a pregnancy bore and yet it seems to be all I can talk about so I'll sign off now!

Pen-Pen - Well done to both your children, you must be so proud of them and all their achievements (and be a fantastic mum!)

Rzl - You be careful with those knives!

anniestar - Sorry to hear you are feeling down and things aren't too good just now, please stay positive and try to get out and just ignore your neighbour, I'm sure the fresh air will make you feel better immediately.

Pen-Pin - Enjoy your quilt day, it sounds much deserved and needed. Make sure you eat lots of fruit and veg to keep your strength up.

    Love

    Valentine xxx

    Good morning everyone,

Just sorted out my bank account and have worked out that I can spend £3.90/day until Jan 26th... should be able to do it as long as I take packed lunches to work and resist buying anything while I'm there (work in Meadowhall so not as easy as it sounds!! :rotfl: ) On days when I don't have the car (ie. today) it costs me £2.70 in transport...

OH at hospital today for final appt re him sticking the cotton bud in his ear back in November. It still hurts when he yawns, coughs, sneezes and blows his nose - not good when he has a cold at the minute :(

Off to get some washing in the WM, have a tidy around and give the bathroom a quick going over before I go to work

Rest up those who are poorly, and (((hugs))) to anyone who feels like taking one :grouphug:

Have a good day (only 2.5 until the weekend!!!)

ps. twink and kyle re. the asthma - the little lad will cope with it much better than you can imagine! me and both my sisters were diagnosed as asthmatic at varying ages - youngest sister was diagnosed aged 5, but has now grown out of it aged 14, and me and my other sister were both diagnosed aged 16 and as we only have mild cases, can cope fairly easily (my triggers are dust mites and pollen  ) It is scary that the nurses tell you all the nasty stuff, but it is honestly very rare if the condition is managed properly xxx

Hello to everyone, hugs, congrats, commiserations to all who need them.
I joined Daily last weekend and have been reading every day, lovely community out there. Am at work so need to be fairly quick - just passing through really!
But.....Hurray! Have some Leave days to use up so am having Friday and Monday off, time to catch up on all sorts of things.
All a bit labour intensive at my house as we don't have WM or DW - water supply is from bore hole and isn't suitable, also can't drink the water so have to fetch that in, all solid fuel heating so logs and coal to fetch and fires to clean - but all contributes to keeping me fit! No need to use a gym!
Best to everyone, will try and call again later in the week.

    hello everyone!

DS2 got on fine yesterday with 1st day in BIG school:D he enjoyed it and still eager to put on uniform again today! (until novelty wears off!)

Got the kids to make some fairy cakes last nite - they just love to put the sprinkles on! (and eat some!) and of course "lick the bowl" !

I did the spicey butternut squash soup last nite (recipe from here) - its NOT very nice! far too watery - have bunged in some more squash in today see if that improves it.:o any suggestions?

Well done to master penpen:T - Brainiac!

dlb - chuckled at the fence saga - I would just lift it up and chuck it inside their garden so that its not taking up yours! good luck.

happy birthday to the nannies & mummys (have a port for me!)

((hugs)) anniestar - has your OH been to doctors for something to ease his stress/depression state? Can you move home at all? I know its a major thing but better than staying somewhere your frightened to live your life in?

PPincher - I got an A5 pukka pad way before xmas and I dont know how to organise mine either for fear of mucking it up too!:rotfl: be interested to see what others have put in theirs too.

Have a good day all -
