Hello everybody,
I had a home day today. First one I've had for ages. I had quite a lot to get through. Anyway finished off what I could do on my *to do* list and made another one. It's a work in progress.Plumber dropped by this arv and it's a goer on Saturday. :j It will most likely be Monday night that we will have our first night up there as the gas hot water won't be on any earlier. The plumber needs to give us a completion certificate first to show it to the gas supplier before they hand over the bottles. They won't be open on Sunday. Gives me another day to pack seeing as I haven't even started yet.
Having a Granny morning tomorrow and then the Pest control guy is coming to do this house out. It's a requirement of the lease when you move out.
Tea tonight - something with cooked chicken from last night's leftovers. I haven't got round to meal planning yet this week. Might do that tonight.
Welcome elaine373  & to any other's venturing in for the first time.
CM Glad to hear that you are on the mend finally.
HOpe you all have a great day and (((hugs))) to those who need them. ByeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Morning all! Still very blustery here. Our fence came free from its post on one corner yesterday  , but didn't fall down, thankfully. DH mended it when he got home - quick 5min job. :T DLB, your story from yesterday made me laugh. Is it now sorted? Edit, just read today's post
Proud Mother alert: hope you don't mind me telling you this, but can't tell other people as it's real bragging, and won't do DS any good, really  We went to his parents' evening yesterday, and he's doing great. Best news was, that based on effort and attainment scores, he's got the highest marks in science over the whole year :T :j For his first term at High School, that's a big achievement. According to his form tutor, he's well organisedGood job, as he certainly isn't at home
Really proud of both of my children
Thanks Pink! Is there a web site with the Queens Guide stuff on it? Did your DD get her award from the Queen? Must have been a great moment.
Churchmouse, good to have you back - glad you're feeling better.
Aussie, how exciting! Your house seems to have gone up very quickly.
DD started a new dance class last night, and wasn't back until after 9  That's 2 late nights in a row, so she'll need to be in bed early tonight.
Off to w*** today, then 5-day weekend! Need it, really. The house is like a bomb site (but it's clean, so a quick whizz this evening and tomorrow will sort it).:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Good morning everyone,
Happy birthday to Aimees Nan, and welcome to all the newbies, its lovely to meet so many new ones the last couple of days x
Pen Pen - WELL DONE TO DS - what a wonderful week your children are having, you must be so proud!!!
Well, horrible weather outside, and after spending far too much yesterday we are having a day home. I have 2 little ones here today, and i promised one of them that we would watch 'Cars' today, so should get a little time to catch up on my flying!!!!
Good news on my 'healthy eating', lost almost all the weight ive put on over xmas, so hoping to get down a little it futher (to nearer the weight i was when we went on holiday last year!!!)
Right, little one due any minute, so better get moving, also need to get my 2 up, DD didnt surface until 8.20 yesterday, so need her to start moving a bit earlier today!!
Have a lovely day everyone,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Morning everyone :
Churchmouse - glad you feel better.
Twink - how is your son doing in Iraq? I hope you dgs is o.k, my little niece has just been diagnosed with asthma too, hugs to Kyle, she must be worried.
Dlb - I had a similar thing with my neighbours, I found 4 men digging a 3 foot hole in my tiny garden without my permission (neighbour told them she'd asked me which she hadn't) and yet there is nothing I can do about it!
DH has just left for a couple of days, I don't mind too much means I can eat what I want and watch what I want on TV (celeb BB yay!). My DS has a piece of homework where they have to research a famous person to talk about. I am a bit stuck as they are only six and I already know there are a few David Beckham's, does anyone have any good ideas? Anyway we will do that tonight.
My house needs flyladying. My green bin was emptied yesterday and I have already filled it with leftover christmas cardboard toy boxes and I still have more to go. DD also has a huge bag of clothes that really should go to charity but I am holding on to "just in case"they were ever needed again but I doubt they will. I will make a nice tea for the children and I have promised them some christmas crackers tonight, they love them!
Have a really goode day everyone and hugs to those that need them.
Congrats to your ds pen pen.0 -
Lol, you guys made me chuckle again this morning.
So much I want to sayto everyone individually, but as usually not enough time to say it.
Rang re allotments yesterday (thanks to post of moggins reminding me) and am 2nd on waiting list for one - but apparently they rarely become availableOn the plus side the gentleman I spoke to was really lovely and told me about a local gardening club (talk is on growing vege in this months group - yay!) and also that I can join the 'club' at the allotment and buy seeds, compost etc via that.
I've ordered my electric use monitor thingy via tchibo, so at last I should be able to PROVE to the boys how expensive using some things can be (fingers crossed). I think finding that they do them was thanks to Snowy - with the delivery code from MSE it proved cheaper than buying the one I was bidding on (but lost) on ebay!!!
Yikes - tis gone half past. Best get that porridge simmering,
Love to all,

Good Morning All
Welcome elaine373
Well done on the weight loss AMIE399 :T
Well done to master PenPen also, a good start at senior school makes all the difference I think.
Very wet and very windy here today, hmm really not looking forward to the school run today. After that am in college and was going to have a mooch around the shops first but if this weather continues will just find a cafe to go in and read till college starts.
Think will pop to Tesco after, need a couple of bits and their reductions are really good, however I must be strong and resist other things as in Tescos I do seem to pop in for 1 thing and come out at least £50 lighter - I do not have the same problem in Asda at all:rolleyes:
When I eventually come home I will be stripping and changing bedding (one of my worst jobs)
However the good news is that oh is cooking shepherds pie tonight as we didnt have it last night so a night off cooking!
Off now - have a great day.0 -
Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well. I've not been on MSE since Friday because I had two assignments to finish for tomorrow. They're done now, thank goodness, this working full time and studying and looking after the house is no fun at times! I wish I was a full time student lke DS (not).
Will try to get back into the flyladying as that's gone by the board as well.

Good Morning and thanks to all for making me smile so early in the day!
Today is the day when my cleaner used to come (called her last week and told her thanks, but no thanks) so I have to get my housework up to a standard so that the family don't realise that the cleaner is not coming any more!
I need to keep up the pretence because at least on a Tuesday evening they have a whizz round putting their stuff away ahead of the cleaner coming on Wednesday! Without the cleaner coming, they seem to conveniently "forget" that they have mess to clear up!
Apart from that, a huge parcel needs posting for something I sold on ebay and a couple more things end today, and a couple of clients to see so I think my day will be fairly full.
Have a good day everyone, and don't get too windswept!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
