    Welcome Elaine and Hi everyone.

I hope that all pooly peeps are feeling better soon.

I am a baaaaad girl! Last night all I had to do when I got home was

eat properly - had beans on toast instead :o
Iron clothes for today - pass
get packed lunch ready for today - pass
    clean kitchen floor - pass
check all well with banking - pass
NOT have a glass of wine - pass
get to bed at a reasonable hour - pass

Instead I had a lovely evening pottering about on here. :D So I'm blaming you lot for my total lack of dicipline last night :rotfl:

Big thanks to everyone joining the collections volunteers SEE HERE I'm sure you will enjoy doing it and now there are a few of us we can help each other out, fantastic :T I find it a fantastic way to "give something back" to the OS community. :A

Guess who better go get the iron out?

Have a lovely day and (((hugs))) to all who would like one.

    xxx

thanks gingin, ds1 has settled in okay in iraq, first month in, he has a week off next month so though it means two days flying he is coming back to brize and dil will go down there for the five days so a nice break for them, dgs2 just seems to suffer when he has a cold but the nurse, rightly so, was very straight talking about the dangers that it was all a bit worrying for them x

:hello: Gooooooood Morning fellow OS'ers :D:D:D

    Welcome Elaine373 :hello:
Happy Birthday to Aimie399's Nan! (and congrats to you on your weight loss :T )

:T Very well done to Master Pen Pen!

Out and about today, so just having a cuppa and a browse. D12yo is making cheese and potato pie at school today, no onion allowed - in fact his teacher made a point of saying that "no World War adaptations, thank you!" - cheeky mare!!

Wash load in and as soon as that is done, it will go on airer's.

Have a wonderful, moneysaving Wednesday, ((hugs)) for those who need/want them.

  • Morning Guys!

I feel really ill:o ..not just me though, OH is the same. Both got headaches, sore throats and fluie(sp). We are staying in all day today and will have a sofa each with a blanket:D

WM is on, DW is on and toilet cleaned. Floors just need a sweep then we can start the quilt ill day:D

Forgot to take the diced turkey out the freezer for dinner later-was going to do a SC curry but as its still in the freezer, this aint gonna happen:rolleyes: So will do a lamb TTD pie (reduced), boiled spuds, cabbage and sweetcorn. After using the cabbage tonight, we have no more fresh veg:eek:    so hopefully we will be well enough to do some shopping tomorrow. OH has mashed up the last 2 nights leftovers and we are having bubble and squeak for late breakie;) ...loads of brown sauce and maybe an egg on the side:confused:

    Question
I have bought a Pukka Pad (A5 Project one)-Which is the best way to organise this? I havent written anything in it yet as I dont want to mess it up! Any help would be apreciated:D

Have a few things to do today apart from resting:

(1)Send contract back with cheque for new cleaning firm
(2)Get 2 PAK numbers for our current PAYG mobiles as we need to change networks
(3)Register 2 new sim cards (02 Genie) and put £10 credit on each and give PAK number
(4)Parcel up 2 parcels that need to be sent back to John Lewis-book a pick up online
(5)If feeling up to it, sort some Ebay stuff as 10p listing day tomorrow

DD made some of Queenie's fridge biscuits yesterday and they were delish.

    Breakie:Bubble & Squeak
    Lunch:Soup or Beans on toast
Dinner:Lamb Pie, Boiled spuds, cabbage and sweetcorn

Anyway, Id best go and see how the bubble is coming along. Hugs to everyone.

  • Hello all! Gosh, some of your are very early starters!
I've not been able to work at home on Monday or Tuesday so have had chance to post on this thread but have a day at home today :j
Lots planned... as well as getting on with my work (loads on with that as away with work all next week and want to clear up as much as possible  ). My other plans are:
Wash, dry and iron duvet & pillow slips
    Attempt to repair some shoes
    Gym
Lunch ~ 3rd and last day of cous-cous with some roasted veg from Sunday's roast chicken dinner
    Put button back on coat
Tea ~ steak pie (shop-bought. Have yet to brave making a pie) with the bits of veg left from Sunday's roast dinner and cheese sauce
Make a potato gratin for lunch tomorrow and Friday, using final bits of potato and veg left from Sunday's roast
Cleaning ~ I'll do kitchen and other surfaces; dbf will do bathroom and hoover
Make some cakes for dbf's birthday tea party tomorrow
Look for a good deal on new laptops

So a busy day, all in all! Am feeling all inspired by you lot to try to be even more moneysaving. Was particularly pleased as last week I bought 21 birthday cards from Paperchase (not the most moneysaving shop but I love it in there) and calculated they cost me £13.25 but that was £42.50 cheaper than they should have been and it really is a saving for me as I would have bought them anyway! Previously I had been going there at the beginning of every month, which seemed to me to be quite organised but it proved how much I was spending on cards (about £10 per month), whereas I hadn't noticed how much when I was buying cards individually. Now I only have a handful more to get over the year :j Have even written the names on envelopes and noted in my diary who I have cards for so that I don't forget. Dbf is beginning to suspect I'm getting obsessive :rotfl:
Anyway, best crack on with the list. Hope you all have productive day xx

Morning earlybirds - just spent half an hour looking for dds shoes for her first day back to school after her ear infection and then realised that i hadn't seen them come back from friday's sleepover - she has to go to school in trainers now.
I don't work wednesdays so can catch up with some flying and try to do a few decorating jobs before my dsis comes at the end of the month. My dad is also coming over from holland so i must get some of this done as he is a bit of a diy freak and i don't want him to spend the whole time fixing stuff ..... or do I?
Will also go into town for exdh's birthday present and pick up some bits for his tea on friday. He is between girlfriends at the moment so spends a fair amount of time moping about my house but i don't mind really as we're quite good mates so long as we don't try to discuss my plans for dd to try for a scholarship as he's against that sort of thing even though he was privately educated.
must go now - i moved the wine from my bedroom and its next to the computer now so every time i sit down the sound of it makes me need the loo
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008
  • Morning all!!

    Welcome to Elaine373!!! I'm a newbe too! :j

    Congratulations AMIE399!!!

dlb you must be so angry! that's dreadful (and trespass). Not sure what you can do though. Kidnap their cats and hold them to ransom? Go away for the weekend and allow any and all teenagers you know to hold a very noisy party? Mmmm... *goes away to think of more evil things to do to dastardly neighbours*

Poor N9eav, unplanned overtime has been happening to me twice weekly, its getting silly - you have my very sleepy sympathies!

Penelope Penguin - great news on your son, you're allowed to be proud, its important!

RacyRed - seems we had similar evenings. All I had to do was make tea (which I did actually), go to church (pass - was poorly), put load of washing in (pass) and pack for today's business trip (done, but after 11 and in so much haste I'm sure I've forgotten something) cos I too pottered on the boards. Its a bit addictive!

Penny-Pincher - hope you and OH soon feel better

Right guys, off to Glasgow with w**k - would really rather go back to bed :(

Have a lovely OS day. Hope all that are poorly feel better, and (((()))) to all in need

    Ironing done

Just popped back to commiserate with Pennineman, 4 hours overtime o top of a working day.. Phew! you must be shattered! I hope it isn't too regular a thing.

    Well done Pen-Pen's DS that's a great achievment :T

PP sorry to hear you and OH have a bug, there are so many around. The weather is really vile today so staying indoors is the sensible option.

    Must dash

    Bye for now
