Uses for Flat Lemonade
Does anyone have any uses for flat lemonade. We often have some left over from childrens visits ( no kids ourselves ) I have one of these pump things to keep the pressure in the bottle, but eventually its too flat to 'save' anymore. And is it true that if put in to the water with flowers in a vase it helps keep the flowers…

Bread question
I've found a wholemeal/white recipe that works well in my BM but all the loaves seem to taste really yeasty. This may be a really obvious question but does that mean I should use less yeast, even tho I'm using what it says in the recipe? Also, If I want to add seeds to it, do I reduce the amount of flour by the same amount…

Chicken - moneysaving or ethical?

I'm pretty new to OS but very slowly a little at a time and by keep reading all your suggestions and ideas I'm changing. I really did myself proud yesterday. Put your thinking caps on!!!!
As a primary school we are involved with UNICEF's Day for Change on Friday 2nd February. We want to raise as much as possible therefore i would be grateful if anyone has any new ideas that would work within the school. Obviously these ideas have to be OS as we don't have lots of money to spend on doing anything dramatic!…

Hi all, Thought I would pick your brains on this one as I don't have a clue! Egg and lemon soup - I am not mad!
Yesterday I made some egg and lemon soup for myself. My Grandfather was Cypriot and he taught us all how to make it. I have brought it to work for my lunch and when people ask what i am eating they look at me like I am mad when I say "egg and lemon soup". It is so delicious and cheap to make. Does it sound that bad?

Reducing refined products in diet
Any tips? I'm hoping it might help my adult acne if I reduce the amount of refined foods I eat. Can you tell me what I should avoid? I'm veggie (no flesh, just eggs and dairy). I do my own cooking a lot, but I'm sure I can improve.

OS sources of veggie-friendly EFAs
Is there an easier and cheap(ish) way to get essential fatty acids in a Veggie OS diet? Can I just check that they're the same as Omegas?! I tried flax powder, but it's yucky and expensive. Plus I've read consuming it through the day is better than one dose.

Where to start? Lodger gone, mess left
I feel like such a horrible person today. A few months ago I let a friend (he's also a distant relative) rent a room off me as he became homeless quite unexpectedly. All I asked was money to chip in for bills and food (I was going to be doing the cooking most of the time and he would do cooking on days where I would be…

Mouldy duvet
We've been storing a 13 tog synthetic duvet in a built in wardrobe and have just discovered that it's started to go mouldy where it was touching the outside wall.
