How to re-heat a cold cottage pie?

I'm pretty new to OS but very slowly a little at a time and by keep reading all your suggestions and ideas I'm changing.

I really did myself proud yesterday. I steamed extra carrots and made extra mash potato when making last night's dinner and then as soon as we finished eating I used the left over gravy and minced beef from the fridge and made a cottage pie for tonight.

I'm amazed!!! I've almost been a different person today not having to worry about what to make etc... It's GREAT to think it's all ready in the fridge but whats the best way to heat it up? Microwave or oven? and if in the oven what temp? (it's fan assisted) and for how long?

i would use the microwave, quicker, you could pop it under the grill if you want to crisp up the top after

I cook mine in the oven.
I cook on 180 in a fan oven. I would say if its coming out of a fridge in to a hot oven about 40/45 minutes. I cook mine for about 30/35 from room temperature.

Push a knife into the middle of the pie to check it is cooked. The knife needs to be hot when you take it out.

  • ... and then if you have any left over the next night, I love it mixed together and fried (a bit like bubble and squeak). Especially when it is a bit crispy round the edges! Cheap meal too with some beans, or any veg you have.
