OK Here goes...
Thanks everyone. Although this hasn’t been the ideal way to do it, these issues have created an opportunity to discuss some good points. Regulars, please bear with me as I hardly ever read the Daily Thread so I’m looking at this situation from the point of view of a complete outsider to it but I don’t think that’s a bad…

Cheap moisturiser - would this work?
Hi all, This is my first foray into money-saving - a sort of old style question! I have seen what seems like a good facial moisturiser in the local £1 store - I have some lemon essential oil - would it be safe to add a few drops to the moisturiser? I love citrus smells! This would make a cheap moisturiser…

Xmas hamper for a diabetic?
Was wondering if anyone had ideas for a xmas hamper for a diabetic. I don't want to use too many (if any) "treats" because I'ld like it to be a luxury hamper that you don't have to be too careful of how much you eat (hope that makes sense) Trouble is I mostly know what diabetics can't eat not what they can eat without…

Straining Yoghurt
My old styling gets worse, one of my friends told me last night she expects me to to be makrame'ing my own Shredded Wheat by the end of the year. I have started making my own Yoghurt (with the Lakeland Yoghurt maker) and I have rigged up a Heath Robinson strainer (as illustrated on this website…

OK then, I have decided that this year (in an attempt to spend less) I am going to make my Christmas presents. I am also thinking about getting the stuff to make my own…

Under the influence of OS
Well what can I say? Are you wonderful people a good or bad influence? Hi, I'm hoping someone can suggest a nice recipe for Tilapia! I've got 6 people coming round for dinner on Saturday, sent my OH out to buy some salmon (boring I know, but safe!) and he caught sight of the Tilapia and brought me 6 back from Tescos! The problem is I have no idea what to do with it and there's no mention of…

How to kill a tree / Passionfruit plant
Hi ppl Need your help here........ Since we got new neighbours last year they really don't bother with their garden and it's now overgrown and looks untidy. At the end of the day that's their choice but since everything is growing in their garden I've noticed a tree has sprung up in between our garages at the bottom and as…

Hi everyone, discovered this site by accident last week when looking for some money saving tips and I'm addicted! Desparately need to start looking at ways of saving money and as I spend an absolute fortune on food (well I think so, around £120 per week for two adults and two kids (14 and 11)) and that doesn't include…

After all our soul bearing and getting off our chests of the last couple of days I thought it would be nice to have a thread devoted to celebrating all the good things and benefits we have received from the OS board our OS virtual family.
