Updated post: In case you don't want to read this whole thread I've put some suggestions of what we can do here

Hi again everyone

I've finally got through the recent huge thread (OK, snuck out for a tasty Irish Stew at O'Neills lunchtime - but I read it eventually :) ).

Before I go and jump in with my size 10s can someone in the know let me know if the situation has been resolved and everyones' friends again or do you rowdy, bread and trouble-making bunch still need sorting out? :D

I don't want to re-open a hornets nest if there's no need

(sorry about all the puns)

Umm ... which thread do you mean?
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

Looks like I've missed it all.

I wish everybody could get on. I get fed up of having to ignore a thread I would like to contribute to because of mindless arguing.

The problems we have been having are highlighted in this very thread. I am the 4th poster to post and am so far the only one to answer the OP question and post on topic.

I hope the arguing is behind us and I for one am happy to draw a line under it and carry on. However I think it would be helpful if some guidelines were written up and placed in a sticky that we can all refer to and quote so that the board doesn't end up in chaos again and also to ease the workload on the BG's.

I would like to see are:

No starting of threads on topics already started.

Regulars refering posters to indexes and threads already in action rather than answering old questions.

A polite way of telling posters having private chats in public areas to use the pm system.

The BG to feel confident in our support to immediately move non OS thread to more appropiate boards.

I don't think the OS board will ever be run on the tight lines of some of the other more business-like boards but it does need controlling to keep it all managable.

I and the others addressed the question and asked for clarification on which thread was intended; that's on topic in my book. It seems though that if there was a recent issue with the OldStyle board, I missed it completely.
