To freeze or not to freeze that is the question?
Trying to be organised, I made a lasagne this afternoon up to the point where I would grate cheese, add it to the top and whack in the oven. Mr LMLOD didn't want it for dinner tonight and it's unlikely we'll get to eat it tomorrow. Should I freeze it in its current state or add the grated cheese and then freeze it? It's…

home made sausages - casings - sheeps, hogs or collagen?
On the www.sausagemaking.org site they offer hogs, sheeps and collagen casings. They say that hogs are best for beginners as they are thicker and less likely to split during filling so those were what I bought for my first year of sausage making. I fancy having a go with the sheeps casings as they will make a thinner…

In a fit of enthusiasm I bought some frozen raspberries from Tesco's recently as they were on offer - now not sure what to do with them, except make smoothies. Also have some left-over frozen blueberries from earlier in the summer and a fit of smoothie-making enthusiasm. What else can I use them for? Help please!

Dyeing with tea : any idea how long?
DS has to attend school dressed as a red indian. Now I can do the feathers, loincloth and all that stuff, he even has a pair of shorts that will do the trick, but no t-shirts that are a buckskin sort of colour. I figured I'd have a go at dyeing one of his white cotton t-shirts (of which he has a few that have…

Photo recipe thread
Having caught up with the Mr BE vs Tigs78 chicken pie thread this morning (missed it "live" - my internet connection has been down for the last couple of days) it got me thinking that a photo recipe index was actually quite a good idea, especially for more (perceived) complex things like jam making, souffles etc. Many…

Kenwood Chef - Attachment questions
Some might think I'm pretty dense, but despite not owning a kenwood chef yet I went ahead and bought a heap of attachments today. But in my defense they were all in a box, and for 2 pounds I got a glass blender, citrus juicer, mincer, sausage filler, and what appear to be 2 stick blenders  So, I have a few…
