Ideas needed please, I'm up against it with this one
I need to dress 10-12 tables for a black tie function. Approx 120-140 guests. In 5 weeks time
My colour scheme is gold and cream ... ish.
All of the ladies will have a small (wrapped) gift worth approx £2
I need flowers or candles or something on each table.
I have white linen tablecloths and silver candelabra for each table. I'd like to use an overlay of some kind to make it look prettier. I need napkins.
I need heeeeeeeelp!!
All ideas gratefully received.

The very first thing that springs to mind is to buy a couple of cans of gold paint - you could spray a lovely selection of things like twigs, cones etc to begin to build the table decorations0

at a wedding recently they had little table setting in everyones place made of net circles tied with pretty ribbons the grown ups had sugared almonds (you can get them in gold and white) and the younger ones had jelly beans.
little silk flowers were tied into the tops of the bundles. they looked really pretty. In the bottom of each was a small clear plastic dish but you could do them without those i would think.
a sprinkling of that pretty metallic confetti shapes in gold would look nice scattered around simple white candles as a centre.
Good luck and what ever you decide on i bet it will look stunningSPC~12 ot 124

you will need some oasis from a florist, along with some of the florists wire.
soak the oasis in water for several hours until its throughly wet. then using the tape attach it to saucers firmly.
Place a gold candle in the entre of each block. At this time of year you can buy chysthanthemums in various colours you want the spray type with lots of fllower heads on, strip the flowers off the stem leaving enough stem on each bloom to push into the oasis use some gold spray to spray some twigs and using these and the flower heads cover the oasis so the candle stands in a ring of flower heads and twigs.
Paper nakins would be fine, you should be able to find some to match your colour scheme. fold in half diagonally , then fold the ends round and tuck in, stand upright on a plate, simple and quick..........
gifts....... lace handkies? bath cubes, can you still get those, lavender bags.
Most hotels(unless you are talking 5*) use paper overlays these days...... you should be able to buy a pack fairly cheaply from somewhere like bookers or MakroWas 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
I like this idea. I could use sprigs of rosemary.
The net bags are a good idea too. Perhaps I can find tiny presents and wrap them like that.de do-do-do, de dar-dar-dar0 -
I dont know what your budget is but a ball I went to recently had small bunches of helium balloons above each table to match the colour scheme and then a small low candle/flower display in the centre of the table. They also had small shot glasses filled with a few liquor chocolates as the favours for the women. Another nice idea for favours might be those little wine charms that you can get.0

Try and find some fresh ivy growing in your garden (or someone elses) and use this to poke into florist foam and put a chunky cream candle in the centre, they usually have them in poundland. I was in Primark today and they had candles reduced, chunky ones, in shades of cream, gold and amber. They would look lovely with the ivy. If you are using candlelabras, you could drape the ivy around the holder. If you can get hold of variegated ivy, it would look even prettier. Use the ivy leaf as a motif, and stamp it onto good quality white paper napkins, or try folding the napkins, and then tying with raffia, with a couple of ivy leaves tucked through the knot.
Google 'table decorations' and see what comes up. Style doesnt have to be expensive.
Good luck!:hello:  please play nicely children !0 -
a simple gold organza runner with matching little bags for the ladies gifts,a nice idea i saw in a magazine today was a gold board / platter with cream pillar candles in the centre ( 3 different sizes) then round the outside a sort of wreath made of ivy and then gold twigs, ting ting etc
simple but very effective0 -
Great ideas, keep them coming!
I like the wine charms idea, and the ivy (not sure where to steal that from yet).
The runners are a good idea, I was thinking of table overlays but runners might be easier to find?de do-do-do, de dar-dar-dar0 -
Where is the event being held? At a recent wedding I went to in the Lakes we had Grassmere gingerbread in little boxes (it is a traditional local aphrodisiac) as the wedding favours.0

Be careful if you go with the balloons ideas.
I went to a wedding recently and a few of the balloons, em - how to word, lost their height meaning they were just sort of moving around the floor. The string that was tied to them kept getting in everyone's way.
The balloons for this were weighted with a little box on the floor between the tables. There was candles on the table so I guess this was the best place for them to go.Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0
