Walking Stick Repair
Hi, I have a antique wooden walking stick that has crack midway along the shaft. Does anyone know where I would go to see if a repair was possible ? There are a few places on the net, but would rather go local if possible (in Belfast area). Thanks.

Wedding venue help. Barns. marquee. prices?
I know there are a few posts like this, but all seem to be asking for the Fermanagh or way down Co - Down direction. I am from outside Cookstown but thinking anything up to an hour’ s travel after the church ceremony should be okay? We would love a really rustic barn but so far the prices are eye watering. On their website…

Buying cars - again
The earlier car thread has got me wondering, is there a general rule of thumb of how much discount off the advertised price of a 2nd hand car is reasonable to expect? From a dealer, rather than private seller? Thanks in advance.

Advice please
I'm hoping you can help me. Basically an oil company delivered oil to my home in error. I never ordered the oil with them as I use another company. Gas bill - am I reading it right?
Hello, I've never had gas before, but my new house does, so when I moved in in November, I signed up with Firmus and gave them a meter reading. They suggested a DD £60/month based on what the previous owners (a family of 4) had used. It's a 4-bed mid-terrace, and I'm the only occupant. The heating is gas, and goes on for…

The Magdalene Laundries "scandal"
I notice this has had a bit of an airing in the press recently with it being declared some kind of scandal with a good spoonful of accusations of brutish behaviour and abuse. This happens so often whereby we apply modern day standards and morality to historical events.…
