Internal Fire Doors?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend where I could get Fire-rated doors at a reasonable price? I could try B&Q and homebase but thought you guys might know some local businesses where they might have a deal! or if you know anyone who is trying to get rid of any, please let me know!

Thanks :)

Unfortunately a door on its own is not sufficient, you also need a fire-proof frame.

The frame will be heavier and will be sealed to keep the smoke on the same side as the fire for as long as possible.

I speak from experience on this but the way, building self-contained flats. Building Control and the NIFS had to inspect everything, and we had to ammend the frames.

Having said that, it was a HMO and they were very strict, maybe your situation is different?
It does make perfect sense though, smoke is a killer, so please take precautions whatever you do.
