Can anyone advise if it is possible to get TV3 on Sky? I can get RTE 1&2, and TG4 but I cannot fine TV3 anywhere on the programmes listing.

    I am with Virgin and get the same RTE channels as you.

    I think it must be a licensing thing why TV3 is not available outside the Republic.

    TV3 is available outside the republic - not on sky or virgin though. Buy the right TV and put a nice big aerial on your roof and point it towards the correct transmitter and you will get it on digital with the other RTE channels (including the RTE news channel, RTE kids, RTE2 HD and 3E).

    Sky simply haven't bothered to licence it. You'll get it on Freeview HD if you have it. If not you'll need to buy a Freeview HD box as it isn't on Freesat either.

    Your not missing much, TV3 = ITV 5 :o

    It is handy for the Football thou sometimes as is 3e also on Saorview if if you get good reception and have a freeview HD box.

    TV3 is not licensed by Sky/Virgin so they don't show it, same way Sky have to block RTE 2 when football is on.

    I haven't got it on my Freeview HD

    It might vary from area to area but if you retune it might come in. Only on HD though, the ordinary Freeview boxes don't pick it up. Sometimes they get the listing or even sound but no picture.

    What local transmitter are you getting freeview from GlynD?

    I get Divis or Black mountain
