No, Freesat doesn't have the RTE channels. They're encrypted and only available through Sky.

Just to add further confusion, you can get them on Saorsat though. Lol.

I certainly am. Checked last night and TV3 is channel number 821. All the RTE channels are in that sequence. 819, 820, 821, 822. Whatever the explanation is I'm receiving them on Freeview HD and they're all on the EPG.

I can't argue. Al I can tell you is what I'm seeing on the screen and EPG.

Edit: I do know that when I got the box I did so because the switchover instructions clearly said that I would need an HD box to receive RTE. The current advice here http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/how-do-i-get-tg4-rte-one-and-rte-two says that Black Mountain transmits all except TV3 but that some HD receivers will get all RTE channels from Saorview. That would explain why I get TV3.
