As above, TV3 is NOT broadcast on Freeview HD. You can receive it on a FreeviewHD box, from a Saorview transmitter, but that is NOT receiving TV3 on FreeviewHD. As Ballyblack says, in NI, with a FreeviewHD box (not just FreeviewSD) you can receive RTE1,2 and TG4 since the analogue switch off.0

TV3 isn't broadcast in Northern Ireland. If you are picking it up you're getting it from a transmitter in the Republic of Ireland.
I'm afarid I don't have an answer. I do get TV3, as clear as a bell but I don't have Saorview, I only have a Freeview HD box. My old aeriel configuration is still there with one antenna pointing towards Black Mountain (I would assume) and one (which I believe redundant) pointing towards the nearest RTE transmitter.
I also have Freesat in a different room but get no RTE channels on it.0 -
The Freeview HD box is letting you pick up Saorview. It has the right hardware inside and your aerial is picking up the signal.0

If you say so. I'm afraid I have no idea why others aren't getting it and I am. I don't have particularly good reception either.
My perfect TV3 reception I am getting from Moville, Co Donegal.
I like something extra for no cost and I didn't get TV3 at all before the recent changeover!0 -
GlynD, this is a confusing subject, and you're not helping.
You are NOT receiving TV3, on your FreeviewHD box, from Black mountain. The FreeviewHD PLATFORM doesn't include TV3.
Your FreeviewHD BOX (same hardware as Saorview basically) is receiving TV3 from an RTE transmitter somewhere, you're lucky, and may in fact still be using that redundant aerial depending on your wiring.
You're causing people to retune their boxes needlessly in the hope of getting a channel they can't.
Also, Freesat does include RTE channels does it not? Or am I getting confused with Sky?0
