Insurance quote refused
Hello, I've been looking at purchasing a classic 1959 Land Rover Series ii and was curious as to what the insurance premium would be on one before purchasing. I entered all my details along with the car I am interested in buying on the Aviva website for a quote but at the end of the whole process was told that they could…

Wondering if some friendly forumers could give some advice, I ideally have a budget of £15-16k, this will be made up of a personal loan through work for £10/11k, part ex and some savings. I currently have a Seat Ibiza - 14 years old now (owned for nearly 8 years), low mileage & runs great but it has a lot of things wrong…

Points on license- bizarre situation.
I was in a car crash in November 2020. Not at fault and other side paid up. I had a hire car from the 25th nov- 5th Dec from a well known hire car company with Star Trek links. When it came to renewing my insurance this month (I'm named driver, wife is main driver) they said they couldn't insure me. When she called up to…

Hello I’m new here and hoping someone can advise. We bought the first new car we have ever owned (VW Tiguan) four years ago and are coming to the end of our PCP. We will have a balloon payment of about £9K at the end of the term, which we have the savings to cover. But that would be all our savings. We have been to…

My car has literally just died. The injector had popped off, oil everywhere, bolts snapped etc. I've left it beside an entrance to a farmers field, on some grass for tonight. It's not obstructing any road or entrance in anyway. I put a note in the window saying ive broken down and will move asap. My question is, can the…

5p/litre off fuel should result in 6p/litre reduction at the pump
My mathematical brain sees that, as a result of the 5p/litre reduction in fuel duty (which would have had 20% VAT payable on it). Because the VAT on fuel is calculated on the cost of it including the fuel duty, It should actually cause a reduction of 6p/litre at the pumps. including the 1p VAT no longer deducted. However,…
