Insurance quote refused
Hello,
I've been looking at purchasing a classic 1959 Land Rover Series ii and was curious as to what the insurance premium would be on one before purchasing. I entered all my details along with the car I am interested in buying on the Aviva website for a quote but at the end of the whole process was told that they could not offer me insurance online or over the phone. This is the first time this has ever happened to me, i have been driving for over 20 years with no claims ever made and infact I am insured by Aviva currently for my other car. I am now worried that when applying for car insurance in the future that i will have to declare that i have had insurance declined. Is this the case? any replies would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

It's not declined but a refusal to quote which doesn't need to be declared. It may well be because Aviva don't insure classic cars, try a classic car insurance specialist like Hagerty.0

As said, that's not a decline so doesn't need to be declared.
Series landrovers are regularly stolen, so specialist insurance - preferably with agreed valuation - is the way forward.0 -
Thanks for the replies, I did think this would be the case but had a brief moment of panic. I will look at insurance companies specifically for classic cars.
Thanks again.0 -
Have a look at Owners Clubs
