Car insurance issues-can you help me?!
I really hope that if you are reading this that you can help me! I am a student who bought my first car last year, insured with admiral and had no problems with them, until I've got new insurance this year with Endsleigh. I experienced a unfortunate accident last July when a woman hit the side of my car whilst it was…

Worth appealing or just pay this Ticket?
Hi I recieved a parking ticket which I appealed in writing but was rejected. I can now pay the fine (£35 if in 14 days) or formerly challenge it. I got the ticket outside a local football club on a match day. I was parked from 7pm on a single yellow line where the times are usually up until 6pm. As it was a matchday…

When to renew driving licence when 70?
I will be 70 this year and I am going on a cruise to celebrate so I will not be at home or even driving when I am 70. How far in advance can I apply to renew my licence or can I wait until I return from my cruise? I won't be driving or hiring a car as they don't allow driving on the ship.

Worried I've bought dodgy car :-(
Hi,:hello: As the title says really, I'm worried that I've bought a dud... I guess I'm after some reassurance/views/opinions of others. Bought a Ford Focus 1.6 Edge (petrol) with 112k on 04 plate on Saturday for DS. It has had two previous owners, last one a Dr (if that matters - the seller seemed to think it was a selling…

Car Lease
Hi, Last year I signed up for a car PCP plan lease of 4 years. They worked out my annual mileage to be around 20,000 miles so I signed up for that. Anyway this year I would have had the car a year and have only done 6,500 miles! I am told they can't reduce my annual mileage as that is what I have signed up for so I am…

T50 roundhead bolt Mashed up how to extract?
This is a Corsa rear seat/seatbelt mounting bolt. It is a pan head screw (round head bolt) and has a T50 recess. It is so tight, that the T50 is now stripped out. Maybe an M8 thread. Looks like this here http://www.fairburyfastener.com/torx_sizing_guide.htm By the way I reckon the T50 is too small for it, but the T55 was…

What car to buy?
Hi, DD is looking for a new car at the end of the summer, she has about 12k cash to spend but is happy to get some finance for the right car. Something with the x factor would be ideal. She does between 6k-7k a year. Flexible in most other areas. Something that will hold its money would be good, something a little…

Car declared SORN but....
Hi A bit of advise please? A car that belongs to one of my neighbours, which he has been tinkering with for 2 years, and has been declared as off road (SORN) with no MOT or tax, is being freely driven around by said neighbour. It's a little bit annoying, as the rest of us seem to have to abide by the law-what makes him…

Cheapest way to learn to drive?
What's the best way to go about it? I just want to know how to drive and get my license- not concerned about owning one right now. I'm 23 and I'm on my own with a little boy. I'm very, very wary about driving- so bit anxious and worried. I just don't want to hurt anyone- I don't think people see it as I do, being in…

Arnold Clark question
So here's a question.... I was in an Arnold Clark the other day and paid £1000 deposit on a car, the machine gave an error when i paid it but the bank gave an authorisation code and said it would be fine. Arnold Clark gave me a receipt and i said i would be in touch for the rest of the payment. They didn't seem too amused…

Outstanding finance on car but my HPI check was clear when I purchased. Can I resell?
I bought a car a few years ago and got a HPI check through AutoCheck (uses Experian) which came back clear. A year after I bought the car a finance company got in touch saying finance was owed. I told them that I bought in good faith and that I had a clean HPI check to back that up. They asked me to fill out some paperwork…

Hit & Run my parked car. One independent witness. Best way to deal.
Reviving this old thread with new developments. TP was refusing to talk to their insurer for a while. Finally got around to it and denied hitting my car. Said the damage to their own car was prior damage sustained elsewhere. So far I have not claimed off my insurer or theirs, was waiting to see how this would go. Meanwhile…

Fan constantly kicking in on MK5 Golf R32
Coolant sensor was replaced which seemed to sort it for a little while but the problem came back. Basically you can jump in the car, take it for a spin, pull up, turn car off & the fan will constantly kick in & then off & then on & then off (etc) for a good while. Come to it a few hours later, ignition on & the fan will…

damaged rental car
Hello, I rented a car from Arnold Clark, and paid the full insurance with excess waiver. Unfortunately, today, while trying to park, I steered to the space in a bit to steep, and the car got damaged by the wall pretty badly. My question is what is the best way to proceed? Would their insurance cover this type of damage?…

BMW what to do?
Hi all, Just wanted some advice to be honest, my pride and joy a 1 series 118d sport blew on Tuesday with 4 finance payment left. I was 500 yards from home when the amber oil light flashed and right away I started to loose power so I stopped the engine and called the AA. He wouldn't even look at the car said he needed to…

Easter Sunday
Does anyone know whether motorway services are generally open on Easter Sunday? I ask because along with Christmas Day, it's the only day that statutory retail restrictions apply. Is there a general rule or should I be planning and ringing ahead today? I have a long but unavoidable journey to make tomorrow.
