What car to buy?
Options
Hi,
DD is looking for a new car at the end of the summer, she has about 12k cash to spend but is happy to get some finance for the right car.
Something with the x factor would be ideal. She does between 6k-7k a year.
Flexible in most other areas.
Something that will hold its money would be good, something a little fashionable. She does have big dogs so would there be any good 4x4 options? This isn't a must though. She currently drives a mini and would prefer something different but this isn't a definite if it saves her a good amount. Local driving mainly but we are quite rural, 4x4 not necessary, she does a few long trips.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Mini Cooper.
We'd need to know a lot more about her needs; what features she needs, what she uses it for?
That mileage means you want petrol. Beyond that just get something she likes the look of.0 -
Perhaps a little more detail on your daughter's requirements would be useful.0

Use cases would help, loads of options well under £12k0

It has an image but one of quiet competence, it says nothing at all about its owner, those who know about cars will approve, the fashionistas won't have a clue what it is if it's debadged.

Fiat 500x. Currently available with no deposit and no payments for 3 months but only until end of March.

Mini Countryman Cooper All4, fabulous cars.0

Skoda Yeti (with a helicopter on the roof).
A Mini or similar sized car seems a bizarre suggestion when she has big dogs to get in the car (I know it's what she currently has but it seems to make no sense).0 -
My brother in law just bought a 1 year old Qashqui with the 1.2 petrol engine.
He seems happy with it.
Though to be brutally honest a Dacia Duster would probably take care of most people's needs but you couldn't say it had much of a wow factor.
Ford Kuga could prove a good idea.0 -
Dogs, something functional and a keeper.
With the low mileage being done, good ex lease should find something smart for the money.0 -
BMW 3 series petrol touring for about £10k or A4 Avant.
Avoid diesels for that miles.
or Seat Exeo for a lot less.
or a 2wd Freelander.
Dogs dont need a 4x4 they need a decent boot plus head height. You dont say what age and breed of dogs.
Jumping in/out a higher 4x4 isnt good for older dogs joints.0
