carburetor issue??

I have a 206 and in the cold weather when I start the car obviously the electic choke kicks in but when I set off the car becomes sluggish is second gear, seems little power. When the engine warms up there is no issues at all and runs perfect. Im thinking that there maybe a carb issue.
Is there anything I can put into my petrol tank that will clean it up and the injectors maybe. Im no expert on cars but Ive seen redex on the shelf so was hoping maybe that will do some carb cleaning.

Is it fuel injected or carburation?0

Carburretors were effectively outlawed in about 1992, and the 206 wasn't introduced until 1998.0

My money would be on a lambda sensor issue, or MAF but less likely.
The lambda one manages the fuel to air mixture ratio and if it's duff can cause issues like the one you describe.
You can probably use an OBD2 reader to test it but you need to understand resistance etc. Best to take it to a trusty garage...0 -

You know,I thought the same when I read the title.0 -

the obvious first question to ask is when was it last serviced and does it show any engine management lights
after that a diagnosis by a service technician would be better than an ask on an internet forum but of course this will cost money but might nail it to say a coolant temperature sensor fault or iat sensor fault rather than parts darting this old car0 -
Because it's a Peugeot I would check that the spark plugs are ok........
They're so hard to get to on most Peugeots of that era, that most garages (including main dealers) never bother to change them.
Peugeot/Citroen basically bolt the engine into the car and then dump all the wiring and everything else on top of it and the engine is usually mounted leaning back, with (you guessed it) the spark plugs at the back.
And also, 206 won't have a carb..... It could have throttle bodies that look like carbs, maybe (if it had the boy racer treatment at some time in it's life).“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Sorry for duff info its a Peugeot 207 year 2007. There are no service lights. I had it serviced just before Christmas and told the mechanic about the issue. He said Peugeots are well known for doing this he said he would give it a blast with something I cant remember. He said it was the mixture of air that was causing the issue, again i dont recall correctly what he said. What ever he blasted it with sort of made it better for a week or 2 but again in cold mornings its just a bit sluggish when I set off, going into 2nd gear it kind of fails as such, like there is a lack of power. Soon as the engine warms up after about 2 miles its fine, couldnt be better.0

a simple scan with the appropiate tool any garage should have really would help
the fella saying they all do it is a getout clause because his serviceing failed to cure the problem would be my guess0
