Car repair
My car has recently broken down, it was due to water ingress via a faulty door seal. The water damaged the carpets, and two electrical modules in the drivers footwell. The cost of repair so far is sat at £1200 or there abouts. I have warranty through the AA and they claim it isn't covered as water damage is one this that…

Oh no, what have I broken...
Messing around under the bonnet and I saw a small pipe unconnected. It appears a small plastic nozzle has broken off in the rubber connecting hose. Any ideas to how important or what this part does. Petrol Saab turbo, and it's on the top and rear of the engine as you stand in front of the car.

Loosening up & reattaching rear view mirror
Long story short, last weekend Mum drove my car and tried to adjust the internal mirror. This evening I adjusted my seat (aching after the gym!) then needed to move the mirror and it came off in my hand. I think the reason it came off is that the ball joint at the back is very very stiff so moving it probably meant moving…

Aircon service: ATS, Halfords, or Mobile?
My Skoda Fabia has never had its aircon attended to. I thought that was Ok as I do very little mileage. Someone told me I was wrong. I get awful condensation in the car too. In my area the options are Halfords, ATS, and a couple of mobile outfits. All at much the same price. Any thoughts which to choose? I live to the east…

Advice on ongoing car repair please
I'm very concerned about the problem regarding our car's engine, and the potential bill I may receive at the end of this all. I really advice on my options. Bear with me, as it's a little lengthy, but I need to get the details right so that I know how best to proceed. I'm not a car man (I'm learning as I go but most of…

Problem with garage - where do I stand?
I took my car for it's MOT to a garage that was recommended to me. It wasn't until after the test I realised they weren't an MOT test centre, they did the work and used another garage for the tests. My car failed on a few things (middle-rear seat belt had jammed the day before, handbrake below efficiency, back brake and…

Bought a lemon. Lets see if I get a refund.
Right, after my Octavia failed it's MOT I purchased a Zafira 2.0DTi on a '03 plate for £2.2k. Today, after 1 week of driving, I took it to my mechanic for a full nose-to-tail examination to pick-up any faults whilst still under warranty. He found quite a few, so I have informed the trader & given him 2 options - 1) -…

Short-term learner insurance, with owned car
I'm 23, male and currently looking at the cheapest way to insure a car while on my provisional license to practice alongside my final lessons and actually pass. However, I own the vehicle I want to insure. I'm usually good at my research but most "short-term" insurers that i'm finding have "the car must have an existing…
